the love you take is equal to the love you make. "
The Beatles
This is so true for me. I've put a lot of heart in to this project, but what I've taken from this project is greater.
When I started this project a year ago, I knew I wanted to docoument it. I put daily posts on Facebook, and I joined Flickr. I knew that I would receive feedback, I knew there would be comments. What I didn't know, and wouldn't have believed it if someone told me, is that I would make friends. I would connect. It has been awesome, to say the least.
Highlights of this project for me:
~The learning process. When I started, I had no idea what I was doing. I never put my ISO higher than 400, and my shutter speeds higher than 400. And I couldn't understand why I could hardly capture action. I also never had used editing software. That has been fun to learn!
~ Getting my 50 lens. What a day that was!!!! The world was shiny and new and oh so bright!!!
~ Purchasing Lightroom- Oh how I now love thee- It has saved my photos from disaster on more than one occasion!
~ Deciding to do the ICONS project- It was the most fun I had all year with the 365!
I have lots more- throughout the year, my confidence has emerged little by little- In April I booked my first session with clients, a family session. I also booked my first wedding and now have 3 under my belt, and have 4 booked already for 2011.
It wasn't easy some days. I had surgery which I had keep snapping through, as well as days when I was just too down for words. They're the days that tested my will to go on with the 365, I could have easily given up.
Fortunately to help me, I had my amazing family backing me. And amazing friends. Thanks to my hubby, my beautiful children, and my mom, sister and stepdad. My mom and hubby especially, who generously watched my kids so that I could do my thang. Thank you- I love you so much.
Next on my plate? Get my website up, and focus on the business part of things. I'll be around on Flickr still. Lots I'm sure. There is always so much going on here- I've learned that Benches are for Mondays, Drinks are for Tuesday, Bokeh is for Wednesday, Tilts are Thursday, Fences are for Friday. And the weekend, all bets are off , and Cliches and Slders reign supreme.
Thank you to all my Flickr friends!! You've all helped me so much, inspiring me and helping me to keep snapping. Thank you Ralph, Debbie and Jordy,Elizabeth, Otillie, Cara Rose, Jaime, Linda, Tracy, Tracie, Angela, Kristin, Avery, Jennifer, Tiffani,Maria, Marie, Heather Cate, Anna- I love you guys!! Thank you! There are more as well, I thank you all!!

Ooooh, and if you want to see all of my photos here, well, they're not all there, tomorrow I will share a link to see them all. Towards the end, I only was posting on my Facebook page my 365, but I promise you, they are all there!!!
Comments always appreciated, as long as you keep it clean - I love to hear your feedback! xx
September's LFF weekend was a bit different from usual. The evening was tinged with sadness and loss as we had a memorial for Janie Marie Swann, the amazing organiser of LFF who sadly passed away in July.
But it wa also a hugely social night meeting loads of people, friends old and new.
And I did a thing - I made my karaoke debut! It was nerve-wracking but I loved it! After a bit of a shaky start I loved every second!
Hotel selfies.
Seriously? com on im not that a good photographer but flickr is by far the roughest and toughest audience i've ever had.
i see to many "poo" around there being rated as top work and have been trough some awesome galleries that are too empty for the content and awesome photographers that are on them.
Who's leg do you have to "hump" around here to get that kind of treatment?

Came across this negative which must be a swap or gift. Unable to find info about the RET 320 as a single articulated tram. Any feedback would be welcome. © Henk Graalman 15022 5-1982
Sorry to go all caps, but I've been working on a fig for GoT Night King, and it is seriously annoying me. Does anyone have any advice for the face?
At the end of this session of ESA's Pangaea 2021 course it is time to get together and listen to all the feedback useful to improve course activities.

My optical vision lately needs calibration. lol.
Yeah, winter approaching and the postal service reminds us to do face covering to minimize covid and flu spread. Let's do that. But the "Yêu" part I believe optional. LOL.
After a large Pick a Brick order, I assembled enough bricks to build the diorama pictured above. However, I would like to make it twice the size (four 48x48 baseplates) with pieces acquired through bricklink recently. When I made the Pick a Brick order, I miscalculated how many pieces were necessary by a longshot, so I now only have two baseplates of land with an ugly dirt patch. I need to know ASAP if i should make the four by four without the dirt patch, as I have come to like how it adds variation to the land. Obviously, the area that the dirt covers will be reduced if I keep it. Please leave feedback on what you think I should do about the dirt, I'm glad to hear any opinions on it. More (and better) photos to come of the finished product.
Another set from Roag and Landon. This is the first set (of my knowledge) to have the over the neck design. It works great, but I think it was a tiny bit to long. This set it meant to be applied on a light bley fig, but I ran out and just had to try it on red. The light blue camo patches were lost, but everything else shows decently. The balaclava isn't part of the set. Any feedback is appreciated and if you fav a comment would be nice.
Hipstamatic shot further processed with Pixlromatic and ScratchCam. Another "wish" as people seems to be enjoying them this week. This one über distorted.

This is 100% camera work. No photoshop for the effect.
I think I'm done with the scary pics. I still have two ideas that I haven't executed yet. They can wait for days I don't think of anything better.
How I took this: This was really simple.
Mode: Manual: Bulb
Aperture: f/3.5 . I used the widest my lens would allow as this was shot in complete darkness.
Flash: Yes. Rear fill flash.
Total Exposure: 56 sec long exposure
Technique: Release shutter while in front of the cam. First flash fires. Keep an external light source (I used an iPhone flashlight) to light up the face. Move to create a sense of motion. When you are satisfied, move back and release the shutter. This fires the second flash and captures the second portrait.
Hope you like it. See you tomorrow. Do leave comments/feedback/improvements/suggestions.
