One Thousand Museum is a high-rise residential condominium in Miami,Florida,
United States. The building, which is located at 1000 Biscayne Boulevard, across from Museum
Park, was designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. The initial design was started by Zaha Hadid. Completed in 2019, the 62-story building stands at a height of 707 feet (215 m), making it one of the tallest buildings in Miami.
In early 2018, before the building was finished, an episode of PBS' Impossible Builds featured the building, which they referred to as the "Scorpion Tower", and described it as "one of the most complex skyscrapers ever to make it off the drawing board.
Designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, One Thousand Museum was Zaha Hadid's first residential tower in the Western Hemisphere, and one of the final projects designed by Hadid in her lifetime." It was designed in association with O'Donnell Dannwolf Partners Architects, a local architecture firm.
A notable feature of the building is the curving exoskeleton, allowing the interior space to have fewer columns. The exoskeleton is composed of 5,000 pieces of glass fiber reinforced concrete. These pieces were shipped from Dubai early in the construction process. The exoskeleton is located in front of a glass facade.
The building was topped out in February 2018. It contains 84 residences, consisting of a two-story duplex penthouse, 4 townhouses, 10 full-floor residences, and 70 half-floor units.
A swimming pool is installed at the top of the building, covered by a curving, faceted metal ceiling that reflects the water. The double-height space is occupied by the pool on one side and a seating area on the other. A similar metallic canopy design is used for the bar. A full two-room treatment spa, hair and beauty salon, acai and juice bar, and sunbathing area are also installed, alongside a multimedia tower.

The bridge, built in 1830 in London, was dismantled, shipped to Lake Havasu City Arizona in 1967 then reassembled in 1971 on dry land, after that a canal was dug under the bridge. This turned a former peninsula into an island.
Lake Havasu is on the Colorado River formed by the Parker Dam 20 miles to the south.

. . . The Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone are the second most photographed feature in the park. Of course, Old Faithful takes the lead.
This was our first stop near the canyon, this is shot from Artist's Point, on the South Rim Drive. The falls drop 308 feet and are coated in ice most of the way down. Can you imagine a football field on end here, coated in ice?

The oak planks feature the Wane or Live Edge, woodworking terms for the boundary with the bark, and come from a large oak which died on the mountain-top years ago. I carefully positioned the log when we sawed the planks, to maximize the wavy edge to add to the effect. Cathie designed and largely built it....no surprise there, if you have seen her tree house shown earlier in the photo stream. Originally made as a grand-kids play house, it now houses a nice porta-potti for use when visitors swarm the pond-park area. I don't think there are any 90 degree right angles in the little building.

My favorite "sunrise in paradise" location on Key West. These palms are featured on Jimmy Buffett's A1A album, and the back cover is about 50 yards north of here. While he lived here this was a favorite spot of his and he wrote a few songs here. Have been attempting to get the best shot of these palms for many years. I'M STILL TRYING!
