This image was shot using color film, but the lighting and colors were just not right. It wasn't until I converted the image to monochrome that it revealed the potential that I saw in the original. The noisy/grainy scan didn't help the color version but works much better in black and white.
This image supports my adage regarding some photos: "If it's crap in color, it's art in black and white".

This "movie" is my attempt at animating the output of my gravitational simulation. Please note that my simulation is an extremely simplistic implementation of Newtonian physics. This particular simulation starts with many hundred objects in a "Dole pineapple" shape, with given rotational velocities based on the total mass and assumptions of elliptical orbit around an equivalent central mass.
This particular simulation begins with a high mass density, and low relative kinetic energy and angular momentum. As a result, the gravitational attraction tends to pull all the mass together. As the system collapses, much material is ejected from the system. Objects that get too close are allowed to have an inelastic collision and thus small objects can become larger ones. The differing colors of objects are related to their total mass.
Note that the video is nearly impossible to view unless one makes it full screen by clicking the icon in the lower right hand corner.

Not finished yet, but gonna try and work on some details for this commission for my girl @blakelyashton she told me she wanted something bold, fluid, lyrical in black and white. I incorportated lots of layers of translucent and transparent paint mixed with dense textures to create some sort of movement and dancing feels to this painting :) can’t wait to finish!

As I set up to shoot this porker, it raised its head, right into that patch of light, to look at me. It's like it was posing for me. I wish I had the drainpipe with me for a closer look.
