Perched 50 odd meters above the canyon, the Bedouin walk these mountains with an ease that gives me vertigo just thinking about it.
50050 (D400) 'Fearless' about to depart Crewe on Saturday 10h August 2024 1Z45 08:02 Crewe to Carlisle. A blistering run would follow over the Northern fells, only for the locomotive to suffer a loss of power (low oil pressure?) on the final section from Penrith to Carlisle.
This picture is inspired by the Fearless, the new Taylor Swift CD that comes out TOMORROW! This is the image on the inside (where they put the CD).
It also happens to be my first 365 photo. I am so excited for the project and the growth of me as a 8th grader to a high schooler! :)
this child... I used to say he'd be lucky to make it to the age of five. I guess now that he's eight, I'll have to say he'll be lucky to make it to the age of ten. This shot from July on a neighbor's trampoline.
had to share this pic: I appear to be totally brave, fearlessly venturing out on the glass extension lookout atop the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower)--effortlessly enjoying the clear view high above Chicago, right?!? WRONG!! What this picture does NOT show are my first three unsuccessful attempts to step out on the overhang. Twice, I tried to step forward on it, but couldn't let go of the corner of the doorframe to actually step out; the third attempt had me turning backwards and trying to step out, but I still could not let go of the frame. With my heart pounding, pits sweating, Todd sighing in exasperation, and small children in line behind us giggling, I finally sat on the floor facing AWAY from the view and literally scooted out on the lookout while absolutely NOT looking down at all. Todd took the quick pic (I'm actually saying between clenched teeth, "Hurry up and take the picture!!!"), and I quickly scooted back in...boy, am I a brave gal!! hee-hee!! We made a Chicago trip over the long Veterans' Day weekend...my first trip there! Loved it (minus the heights)!
