Io e il ritratto: chi segue il mio percorso fotografico sa bene che il ritratto alle persone non è un genere che pratico con naturalezza. Non amo le pose ma non amo nemmeno rubare ritratti a persone delle quali non so nulla e nemmeno so se sono d'accordo. Un minimo di contatto lo cerco sempre, un sorriso, un gesto, un nome e poi lascio la mia email nel caso il soggetto avesse il piacere di ricevere lo scatto, mi sembra il minimo per ringraziare. In Cina ogni persona per un occidentale è un potenziale ritratto eccezionale, ho selezionato in fase di scatto, pochi ma sensati, forse questo è uno dei migliori.
Ho chiesto alla madre se erano fratelli e se potevo fotografarli e le ho lasciato il mio biglietto da visita.
