False Kiva Registry, dated September 21, 2012:
"Regarding all I see as I sit on a rock at False Kiva, my life is a moment passing. A fragile gossamer thing... that is beyond my control. The gentle force of the river of time that has created this place, this view gives me perspective, it teaches me humility. If I were to sit here for a length of time I feel as if I may dissolve from the power of humility. Imagine that weightless, without the baggage of an aging body, drifting off to a place out beyond right or wrong, beyond prejudice or opinion. Oh well, enjoy, be respectful. Please tread lightly. ~CPD"
Don't know who he is, but he couldn't have described the feeling of being here any better.
This song sparrow was behind some blackberry vines, and thought it was concealed from me, so it let me approach quite close. Shot near the Willamette in Portland.

MRL's Night Gas is westbound on the 10th Sub climbing Evaro Hill, near the location known to crews as False Summit.
With Auburn making an earlier than expected exit from the NCAA Tournament, I had the last weekend of March free so seeing the forecast it was an easy choice to head back to the KCS again. Hearing the leader's number when they were calling signals I knew this wouldn't be anything other than a Gevo, but still hearing "IC 2725" and then seeing this is a bit of false advertising IMO.
We're just west of Clinton as this eastbound ducks under Interstate 20 at first light. Eastbound empty oil cans headed back to the CN at Jackson was a new one for me, anyone know where it might have unloaded at?
A herd of zebra startled while catching a needed drink in the Serengeti. Fortunately for the group, the alert was a false alarm caused by a few anxious youngsters.
a birds view on False Bay while we climb out of Capetown Airport. I don't know exactly how the different colors of the ocean are created but i guess it is the result when the cold Benguela current from the southwest and the warm Agulhas current from the northeast come together. Taken inflight from Capetown to Munich.
One of my favorite spots to sit back and relax. While the hike is not difficult it is incredibly rewarding to see this view!
The hymenium of the white chanterelle (Cantharellus subalbidus) is a distinct network of forking, rounded "false gills". Found in the Siuslaw National Forest, Oregon.
This is actually a single shot cropped into a panorama. It was cold and windy and the water did not generate as nice reflections as I had hoped.
