My version of Inexplicable Fail

We spotted this red tailed hawk on a tree and it then launched into a full speed attack into a bush in front of us. Here is the hawk taking a brief pause after the failed attack before it took off

I made my very first FAIL image. I took this pic at a grocery store near Marquette, Michigan.

Go look up "cocu" in a French dictionary.

Wolverine Fail Toy, Wolverine Inflatable Squeaky Hammer by Rhode Island Novelty RINCO. My he inflation valve stem in right in Wolverine's Crotch. It certainly is an epic fail toy! From Mike Mozart's Collection of Unusual and Fail Toys of TheToyChannel and JeepersMedia on YouTube!

This was the family G5 iMac for all our music videos and podcasts etc.

At 4 years 2 Months the graphics o/p has failed catastropically.

I suspect 1 or more capacitors has failed.

I found this "answer" on another Flickr contacts page.

I rescued all the music and videos by putting the iMac in Target disk mode and booting my 7 year old G3 laptop from the iMac (which proves the HD and software is OK)

Check out the link to the failing capacitors theory

Not my best day. Photo fail. I'll call this one "birding with weezerbee9."

Singapore, Tamron SP 500/8

aka What was I thinking? Looks like it's made from recycled golf balls :(

This is probably the greatest fail in the history of night-photography, maybe in history of photography, even history of failure! :D

Now talking seriously, this was a trial of a technique for doing star trails. Instead of taking a long noisy exposure, in this case I shoot lots of photos of 30 seconds and then I combined them into a single file. You can read a nice tutorial here:

BTW, I learned something. If you see a tripod is 200 euros and another one is 20 euros, there must be a reason. In this case I didn't have my tripod and I was forced to use a cheap tripod to realize what is the meaning of shaky tripod!

After i failed miserably to get out of bed for sunrise (bloody drink),i made a belated effort to get rid of the cobwebs and headed up to the Edge of Kielder Forest and a great little waterfall i knew about at Hindhope law.

The walk through the forest to the falls is superb, stunning scenery and very accessible, just what i needed.

So I wanted to try this new fangled sous vide low-temperature cooking. Bought a not-so-special T-Bone / Porterhouse and vacuumed it with a bit of steak pepper and herb salt. Got my styrofoam cooler and added a hole in the top for a little silicone tube, and some drainage holes. Hot water collects in the funnel, flows through tube to the bottom of the cooler and drains just under the lid. Thermometer pierced through lid to do whatever it is that thermometers do. Just over 7 hours at 55°C. Searing in hot pan produces lots of smoke, little else. The meat is tender throughout, but I miss the range of textures you get from a "traditional" steak: crispy on the outside, with a juicy pink centre and melt-in-your-mouth fat... This steak was greasy and tallowy, with a hint of fishiness, though (to be fair, I don't know how far the method is to blame for the Flavour Fail).

I will definitely not try this again for steak. I may give it another try for some other cut of meat.

Here is the first try with the liner in. The rocks were placed around the edge, but didn't end up hiding enough of the liner. We weren't happy with the final product, so I've ripped it out and started again.

The 2006 soy bean crop failed due to the drought in the Midwest

Not my picture. Taken from Fail Blog again.

This reminds me. Once I went to my bank to see if I could buy some Japanese Yen.

The lady told me they didn't use Yen no more. They switched to Euro.

I said wha when???

She said oh a while back!

I said, but but... but (doubting myself) Japan is not part of the EU... is it?

She said, Oh they are!... aren't they?

Then she went to the back office to ask.

She came back and apologized. "Oh sorry I didn't know Japan is on the other side of the world teehee!"

Failed attempt at a Willys Jeep.

Heartland credit card processor is untrustworthy. They had a break in and let my credit card number get stolen.

A parking meter with serious attitude felt the need to tell me what he thought of me. This after I gave it a quarter too, how rude is that?

Picked up a sack of Legos for cheap today at a Yard Sale, and in-between doing major cleaning of my room and closet, I couldn't resist playing with them. :P

I call this Fail Haus, because it's made of Fail.
