Spinel Faerie is the first in a series of Gemstone Faeries. She is about 9.25 inches tall, and is made of Japanese glass seed beads, organic cotton fiber fill & thread, and Swarovski pearls. She will have natural black spinel on her dress. All the colors used represent colors of spinel. She is ball-jointed, and has 13 points of articulation.
A beautiful moment captured as a little Fae danced oblivious to the world around. I had my soft focus filter on and had to shoot under a table. I got lucky with the wash of color from the lighting, I only tweaked the contrast a bit. It was one of those great moments you have to be in the right place to catch.

Faeries invited me to shoot them as they worked in a church to remove old ductwork and make a space for their spring Faerie Faire
We all had fun re-decorating Lurch's room at House of Commons. The pre-existing faerie was the ugliest attempt at beauty I had ever seen. We made it uglier... but somehow better.
The next tennant didn't like it one bit and painted over the whole thing. Ohh well.
These earrings were made using Vintaj natural brass deco diamond filigree wraps that dangle from Vintaj natural brass round loop ear wires. I attached Vintaj natural brass whimsical nouveau fairy charms to each wrap, along with tiny amethyst and peridot flat back rhinestones and pressed glass flower beads. Each earring is 2 1/2" in length.
Vintaj natural brass products are not antique plated or chemically treated. They are nickel free and lead-free compliant.
The faeries were at the height of their glory during the Bronze Age. Along with bronze, brass was well known and very faerie friendly because it is made from copper and zinc. In antiquity, polished brass was often used as a mirror and I'm sure those mirrors delighted our fae friends. Here's a chance to turn back time and take a brass-colored frolic with our faerie friends in a beautiful Bronze Age and brass-aged forest.
