Penn State York students, faculty, and staff participated in the College Town Takeover, Sunday, September 18, 2016, at PeoplesBank Park in York, Pennsylvania, home of the York Revolution minor league baseball team. This collaborative effort between Penn State York, Harrisburg Area Community College, and York College, is designed to introduce students to the many things available to do in York City, and to encourage businesses to find ways to make York a student-friendly town. Everyone wore their school colors, and individuals from each college and university were honored as part of the day.
This was my first, long overdue visit to Prague. We went to a debate tournament, held in this charming building. One of the organizers told us a hilariously bizarre story of coming into school one day and finding giant, floor-to-ceiling red banners with swastikas hanging in the foyer. They were shooting a movie about Nazis and this building was the perfect Nazi HQ. (It totally is. Also, let's be real, you can't go two steps in an Eastern European city without bumping into a WWII movie shoot.)
