It’s some kind of small factory across the street from the cactus corner in my previous photo. I thought it had a beautiful presence.

We drove on a very bumpy track to the badlands at the base of Factory Butte. The textures of the Mancos shale and mudstone are amazing. I did some research regarding climbing this butte. It appears no one has done it for at least ten years. It's rock is "rotten". Climbing websites suggest climbing something else in the area!

Ruins of a cellulose factory in Lower Silesia/Poland. The plant was built in 1911. It produced sulphite cellulose for the production of paper.
A view of Factory Butte looking north. The Butte got its name from early settlers who thought it looked like a massive factory. It is a major landmark that can be seen from miles around. This sky is from a shot taken from near this location several years ago.
