I was unsure for some time, whether I wanted to show pictures from this part of our Poland trip and I decided to include it. This week I will show some pictures from the Auschwitz, Birkenau and Plazsów sites of former concentration camps, focusing on today's reception of what I felt is unbearable evil.

Ich habe einige Zeit nachgedacht, ob ich Bilder von diesem Teil unserer Polenreise zeigen wollte. Diese Woche werde ich Bilder aus den ehemaligen Konzentrationslagern Auschwitz, Birkenau und Plazsów zeigen, mit Fokus auf den heutigen Umgang mit dem unerträglichen Bösen.

Hoy se hace formal eso de mis 28, quiere decir que habrán transcurrido 28 años desde que nací y yo que hace nada tenia 13, no me enrollaba y no tenia responsabilidades! los quiero de vuelta!
formalmente mañana tengo 28 años y que 28! ha sido toda una tarea llegar hasta aquí airosa... y a la vez me siento muy bien conmigo misma, me siento bien con lo que soy, y con preview de lo que quiero ser.
Durante mis 28 he pasado por todas las crisis posibles, todos los renacimientos posibles, todo los vaivén posibles, las experiencias y estados emocionales más intensos y pues aquí estoy... más fuerte, más mujer, con más capacidad para diagnosticar lo que quiero en la vida, para crear y para crecer.
Agradezco a la vida por cada personaje que ha participado en mi historia, a quienes a diario llenan de detalles que recordar mi vida, a quienes me acompañan en esta jornada... :) Ohhh casi 30!

I'd also just like to say thanks to the folk from the NYC Social Group on flickr, who were so helpful in the run up to our arrival and during the stay there. In particular Lasadh in the run up to AND throughout the whole trip but also, Aaron Edwards before we arrived, and amg2000, Harry J Bizzarro, RubyMae, Simon Pride for joining us for a flickr-walk in the drizzle at Brooklyn's Greenwood Cemetery, and on our last evening. Finally, on our last day our completely chance encounter with NYCArthur who on our last morning before flying home, spotted us taking photographs, wandered over and said... "Do you know of flickr?"! :)

On the Saturday of Nov 24, 1973 a United States Navy airplane (C-47 SkyTrain also known as “Dakota”) was forced to land on Sólheimasandur’s black sandy beach in the south of Iceland. The crew survived the landing and the airplane’s remains are still standing at the crash site.
View from one of Shōtō’s open kitchen’s stations (aka the view from the chefs’ perspective). The angle also showcases the floor to ceiling glass wine cellar cabinet that separates Shōtō from Daishō’s pass (the part of the restaurant connecting the back and front of house).

Despite the inward-oriented field curvature in the Mandler lens, the left and right edge of the frame look quite sharp. Possibly due to the distance. This is not bad at all, even for architectural photography. I am pretty sure I shot this at f/2, but the EXIF shows f/4.8. I don’t think I had stopped down.
Below is another shot, this time at an angle. This is my next sequential photo in this series.

Janice Stagnitto Ellis, Senior Paper Conservator, was responsible for taking the book apart. She began the disbinding process by placing a protective layer on top of the leather in a process called "facing." Facing the leather helps keep it stable and intact while manipulating the object. The protective layer consisted of a piece of hand-made, 100% kozo tissue from Japan; this acid-free tissue has excellent aging properties. A conservation quality adhesive was previously applied to the tissue and was then reactivated with a solvent after the tissue was wrapped around the leather covers. The adhesive is easily reversible in a solvent so at any time the protective layer can be removed without leaving any residue on the leather covers.

Low lying mobile home park vulnerable sea level rise storms. Facility was constructed on filled-in tidal lands.
Note: Facing west- just ahead on the highway is the future I-10 rest area and then current home of the Snow Creek 'Camp'. Also, middle of photo is famous AT+T Relay Station.
