SPIC MACAY is a national movement to promote indian classical music and culture among youth. It works with children and students in schools and colleges. Every year 3000+ concerts and performances conducted in schools and colleges in India and beyond. This movement started over 30 years ago, initiated by Dr. Kiran Seth and has contributed immensely to light the spirit of culture among children.. Long live such movements !!

After having these up for a couple months I feel I have to add a disclaimer to them. This is an ART project. The people depicted in these photographs are not real clowns. We don't put on clown make-up and have wild parties. They are just fun silly photographs that depict what I think (and know is not true for most) clowns do when they're not working.

Hanna got a gift certificate for her birthday last month. We went to KMart yesterday and one of the things she bought was a face paint kit.

It was face painting day at our after school program. She was pretty proud of her face and wanted to keep it painted until Monday. I saw and it and instantly turned into the practical and buzz-killing mom. But she loved it as if the face paint amplified her already high level of animation. Luckily, logic won out and she washed her face. On Saturday.
