I've been assuming non-breeding white-faced Ibis, Plegadis chihi, because of where this is (Las Vegas area) and no reported sightings of glossy at the time I took this picture in that area.

But is it? Brown eye, not red. Should I be labeling this a glossy ibis?

Note: this was taken at Henderson Bird Viewing preserve, a few miles southeast of Las Vegas, and an area with lots of birders walking around in the mornings.

The ashy-faced owl is a species of owl in the family Tytonidae. It is found in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland, and, now, heavily degraded former forest.
