These allow for the drive activity light to be displayed on the front of the unit and the inclusion of a front panel Write Protect switch and light.

I am becoming more interested in the way that nature reclaims the landscape over time. For example the opening pages of Daphne Du Maurier's "Rebecca" or the Kipling story about the ruined temple. Internally it looks as though this barn has been ised quite recently, but now is being left to go to ruination. The sign on the gate says "Keep Out - Dangerous Building". How long before the roof collapses and the vegetation hides the ruins from site, absorbed back into the landscape.

An external defibrillator is used to help people suffering from sudden cardiac arrest to restore normal rhythm of the heart. It is an advanced, yet simple-to-use medical equipment that can assess the heart's rhythm and, if required, provide an electrical shock or defibrillation, to assist the heart in regaining a healthy rhythm.

A stunning sample of the French FOCA lens OPLAR 1:3.5 f=9cm in its original FOCA box. The lens is with 36mm screwing mount for the range-finder FOCA "PF" (French : "Petit Format", PF1, PF2, and PF3).

The lens is practically pristine either mechanically and optically. The French company O.P.L. ("Optique & Precision de Levallois") designed this lens for its FOCA camera's that first appeared in 1949 (version-1), and manufactured the lens in its factory of Châteaudun, Eure, France.

The serial number identifies a late model-5 version-6 (#115.000 ± 116.100) produced from 1959 to 1962 at the end of the 36mm-mount FOCA camera's. The optical formula improved from version-5 with 3 elements in 3 groups instead of 4 elements previously.

The lens is presented here with my year 1954 PF3 camera The FOCA PF3 is essentially the same camera as the type PF2B (PF for "Petit Format") constructed in France by the company "Optique & Precision de Levallois" (OPL) starting from 1947. The difference lies in the built-in slow speed mechanism giving 1/10s, 1/5s, 1/2s and 1s exposition times, plus the T-mode. It was manufactured in the Châteaudun OPL factory, route de Jallans, France. The factory, constructed in 1938, is still at the same place under the name of SAFRAN now producing precision devices for aerospace appliances.

On the PF 36mm-screw mount FOCA camera's, the lens is not coupled to the range-finder that is however still usable to evaluate the distance. The value should be then reported on the distance scale of the lens. The built-in finder is also designed only for the f=5cm normal lenses. An external finder covering the filed of a 90mm lens should be used as the shown FOCA Universel multi-focal touret finder or the FOCA sport finder with metallic frames.
