Presumably this was a stop-gap measure between the Jubilee Line extension opening and the new signs arriving.
Here in Canada we plug our cars in at night to keep the engine block warm enough to fire up in the morning. You see a lot of extension cords lying around. The bright yellow junped out at me.
The building of the Admiralty extension took place between 1888 - 1905 in three distinct phases. It looks like the first phase has been completed, the image gives an excellent view of the west side of the extension which was blocked by the building of the Admiralty Citadel in 1939.
After the first extension to Stephenson Street is completed for the Midland Metro, the next leg will go to Centenary Square, via Pinfold Street.
Maybe by 2017 or 2018 (or later).
The street is quite narrow, and the pavements will have to be narrowed.
Pinfold Street goes from Victoria Square at the top to Birmingham New Street Station at the bottom (Navigation Street / Stephenson Street side).

A close up of a peacock feather (using my extension tubes) we got at yesterday's outing. A flash was used to bring out the color of the eye. Some clarity was slightly reduced to soften the feather and bring out the colors.
Looking from the existing portion of the house to the new. New slow combustion heater which we are looking forward to using next winter. The stairs are behind that. To the left is the new doors to our bedroom.

An extentsion tube converts an ordinary lens to a macro lens.
It is a glassless device placed between the camera body and the lens. The device makes the focusing range of the lens nearer the camera than it's normal focusing distance. Being nearer the camera, the size of the image of the object on the camera sensor is magnified, hence, the lens becomes a macro lens. The tube has conductors that allows the operation of the auto-focus and aperture adjustment of the lens.
My favorite part of shooting macro is looking through the viewfinder on a world so small we can only imagine what it would be like to live in. My least favorite is when you have to hold really still even though mosquitoes are eating you alive.
Totally worth it.

The upper half of this image was shot using the Olympus Zuiko 50mm macro lens; the lower half was shot using the same lens with the EX-25 extension tube. Both pictures were taken at minimum focus. Neither has been cropped.

Existing lounge room. Not changed much but has had a lick of paint and is a lot less cluttered. Very spacious and we now have a place to escape the kids and sit.
Just in time for spring my vintage Accura M42 extension tubes came.
The 3 smallest tubes are a nice set by Accura (I think they can be used Auto judging by the inner flange, so these are from the 70s I'd guess)...the biggest isn't from the same set...it's also marked with "Made in Japan" but there's no Accura branding. Finish is pretty identical, but who knows, I know a lot of Japanese things were branded with multiple product lines even though they were manufactured in the same factories.
