Having left Paris on a train to Nevers we have stopped at Cosne to change from electric to steam and crews. There is a wonderful Sunday evening atmosphere on the station with the train windows open ( yeah, open - you could then!! ) and everyone making their goodbyes after visiting friends at the weekend. SNCF 241P 8 looks and is enormous and will take me onward with consumate ease.

Het leeg mat. van de TUI Ski Express uit de Watergraafsmeer komt als trein 33265 aan in Zaandam. Twee weken eerder werd de trein nog in een sneeuwloos Innsbruck gefotografeerd, nu kon er alsnog een winters plaatje worden gemaakt.

The 'Scarborough Spa Express' is cautioned by the stone train in front of it. ‘Spam Can' Bulleid designed ‘Battle of Britain’ 4-6-2 no.34067 ‘Tangmere’ heads slowly past the site of the long closed site of Hunslet station with the WCRC 1Z68 07:52 Carnforth to Scarborough 'Scarborough Spa Express' tour. The tour was already running 45 minutes late due to the late start from Carnforth because of an electrical issue with the Bulleid.
BR Standard Britannia Pacific no. 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' passes Bootham, shortly after departure from York on 2nd September 2009 heading the Scarborough Spa Express.

TE2000 (DN33775) SN12EGZ seen at Westfield London between White City and Shepherd's Bush, which started to work on Express route 607 towards Uxbridge.
Exactly 3 months later since 207/607 was changed, 2000 has recently got a newer Greenford blind set, therefore now being capable to run on the express route.

Bernina Express in the Swiss Alps.
Crossing the Alps in the Bernina Express certainly is one of the most spectacular ways to do it. Along the way, the Bernina Express rolls over the 65-metre-high Landwasser Viaduct, the signature structure of the Rhaetian Railway and the UNESCO World Heritage site.
Altogether the train passes through 55 tunnels and over 196 bridges on its way from Chur to Tirano. Travellers are treated to marvellous sights during their journey, like the Montebello curve with a view of the Bernina massif, the Morteratsch glacier, the three lakes Lej Pitschen, Lej Nair and Lago Bianco, the Alp Grüm and the Brusio Circular Viaduct.

New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R62A car 2225 is the lead motor on a Manhattan-bound 4 train, seen ascending the grade of the Jerome Avenue Line towards 170th Street Station. The train is running express from Burnside Ave due to maintenance work replacing the local track further down the line. Additionally, while 4 service is typically provided by "new tech" trains, a separate General Order in Brooklyn forced the use of R62A trains from Westchester Yard as substitutes for the weekend.
