I took the pictures from the rooftop of our building towards the east of London. A huge explosion on the site where the olympic stadium is being built, caused thick clouds. I took these 1 hour after the explosion. See here for more pictures news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/7090763.stm
After 12 hrs the fire is still burning. Fire-fighters say half of the Terminal has been destroyed and the fire will continue to burn for at least another 24hrs!

Back in 1998 they were filming a car explosion for Nash Bridges across the street from my office. We waited for about two hours with fingers in shutters to get these shots. And that was back when people actually used film in their cameras. :-)

Around 4AM we were awoken to explosions up the street.
A transformer beneath the street exploded in Reno, Wednesday, March
7, 2007, shooting a Dodge Dakota four feet up in the air before it
landed on its side. The driver was largely uninjured in the blast.
A gas pipe exploded in Moscow on Saturday night 9th of May - close enough to hear the flames all night long.
In 2005, one of my friends sent me an email on a Sunday night that said "EXPLOSION!!!" Coincidentally, I didn't show up at school for a week, and a running joke has been ongoing ever since. I started this tradition with a friend in Ottawa, which escalated to this letter that said "EXPLOSION!!!" across the entire page.
Busy weekend, didn't take a single shot yet.
Have been a bit creative this week though for two competitions.
The original shot, without the editing, was a possible for the ARAF competition 'Signs of Spring.' Didn't think it would do though.
