This plant can be trained to grow as a small tree. Asclepias fruticosa - African Milkweed aka Family Jewels. This very unusual looking plant is a 'must grow'.

Explosion. No other way to descibe this shot. I have really to thank my camera for this shot as its ability to deliver a high speed burst and fast focus saved the day. Keeping my hands down to protect them from the bitterly cold east wind I saw the being of this big one. The first few photos the top of the lighthouse was missing but by the time of the full impact I had it all straightened up. Yes I hear you say if I had it on a tripod.... To be honest I could not stand around, the wind was savage so to keep on the move was the best way to endure the conditions. This is action photography at its best and mother nature is the star.
