While walking around a local nature reserve, I found this pair of whitethroat, building a nest, so with a bit of Patients, I managed to get close enough for a couple of decent shot, I'm am very happy with these shots, I really hope that you like them to...

Thanks so much everyone!

OK - so, tell me my friends - colour or B&W? Which do you prefer?

I have increased the saturation a bit and reduced the luminance on the blue and aqua colour channels, but otherwise it's pretty much untouched.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments!

Taken an Marshside today, slowly making our way towards this perched Kestrel, it got spooked and flew straight in front of an on coming car... it was very close, you can just see the car in the bottom left of the picture...

Probably my coldest and shortest shoot I've ever done. I never realized how quickly the sun goes down until today haha. This was another test shoot to work on getting used to using this alienbee which is definitely difficult. I shot with Chelsea probably a year ago so it was cool to shoot with her again.

We met up around 3:45pm and went to one spot I had in mind but as soon as I started setting up a cop rolled up and told us we couldn't shoot there since it was private property (at least he was chill about it). So we tried some stuff near by that didn't work out how I wanted it to and by then the sun was completely down. So I decided to try out by this garage that is right next door to my dorm here at school. Worked out very well I thought.

By the time we finished it was only around 5pm; I was very surprised at the amount of time it took to go from light to pitch black. Processing-wise I wanted to do something a little edgier so I mixed some stuff up between a couple actions and such. This one isn't as dark as the first, gave it a little more saturation. All 5 shots I edited have a different processing. Anyways, what's everyone's thoughts?

I don't know. I just thought that title was appropriate. Any ideas welcome. I'm soooo not proud. My inspiration for this work is Ray www.flickr.com/photos/raisinsawdust/ who does the most amazing black and whites and even though this isn't really black and white, I wanted to give thanks to him for giving me inspiration through his amazing work. Thanks Ray!
