After a day of sweltering heat and humidity the sunset sky here in San Antonio, Texas looked like something from the skies of Mars or Jupiter. Hope Y'all like it.!! Lol.

Thanks for all your support on my work in the art of Photography. Lol: Gaston

View in large size for awesome details of this wonderful capture.

I really enjoy this view - in all ways 😄

This is Haukelifjell, mountain tops you see here are around 1500 meters above sealevel.

There is a cabin on the over side of the lake, it seems quite tiny from here.

It is stunning - I think 😍

We checked “Aurora” app, there was a chance to see Northern Lights at Uttakleiv Beach. We went in the afternoon, just a reminder: you had to pay the parking, there was a camera at the gate to record car plate photos. Flew drone a little bit, took the sunset photos, then waited for the northern lights…

We could not express our feeling when we saw the northern lights dancing on the sky, not so many people waited at night, but we could hear the “WOOOW!!!” The northern lights changed shapes quickly… Here you are!

We stayed for 9-10 hours that night, from 3pm to 1am, wore two down jackets, one down pants, so worth it!

Later we talked to the local people about it, they said we were lucky to see Northern Light!!! Not all the people are so lucky, due to thick clouds blocking the sky, you could not see it even KP index are strong...

Scott Air Force Base (IATA: BLV, ICAO: KBLV, FAA LID: BLV) is a United States Air Force base in St. Clair County, Illinois, near Belleville and O'Fallon, 17 miles east-southeast of downtown St. Louis. Scott Field was one of thirty-two Air Service training camps established after the United States entered World War I in April 1917. It is headquarters of Air Mobility Command (AMC), and is also the headquarters of the U.S. Transportation Command, a Unified Combatant Command that coordinates transportation across all the services.

The base is operated by the 375th Air Mobility Wing (375 AMW) and is also home to the Air Force Reserve Command's 932d Airlift Wing (932 AW) and the Illinois Air National Guard's 126th Air Refueling Wing (126 ARW), the latter two units being operationally gained by AMC.

The base currently employs 13,000 people, 5,100 civilians with 5,500 active-duty Air Force, and an additional 2,400 Air National Guard and Reserve personnel. It was announced in June 2014 that two new cybersecurity squadrons will be added to the three currently on base.

Its airfield is also used by civilian aircraft, with civilian operations at the base referring to the facility as MidAmerica St. Louis Airport. MidAmerica has operated as a Joint Use Airport since beginning operations in November 1997. Allegiant Air, the only commercial airline with scheduled flights at the airport, pulled out of the airport on January 3, 2009, but now has multiple nonstop destinations.

This was the highest ranking Explore I have ever received, and I have been completely overrun with views, faves and comments. They are all very much appreciated but I am just unable to respond to all of them!

It was an overcast and rainy day that had me dodging rain most of the day. The greens were so vivid and lush that I actually pulled the saturation down as they looked fake!

Letchworth State Park, Castile, New York. Renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East," is one of the most scenically magnificent areas in the eastern U.S. The Genesee River roars through the gorge over three major waterfalls between cliffs--as high as 600 feet in some places--surrounded by lush forests. Hikers can choose among 66 miles of hiking trails. Trails are also available for horseback riding, biking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. Letchworth offers nature, history and performing arts programs, guided walks, tours, a summer lecture series, whitewater rafting, kayaking, a pool for swimming and hot air ballooning.

More aurora, these from New Years Day 2025, early evening. Weirdly in the west, started with pastel colours, but progressed to strong, dancing columns in reds and purples. So different to the Hogmanay display.

Grasping for something to hold onto. A rock. Something stable. A lifeline. It’s hard living on the edge. Sometimes the wind picks up and I find myself battling to stay up. Battling to stay above the rising water. My head screaming for silence, for release. It would be so easy to give in. So easy to go under. To stop fighting. To submit. Some days I crave it in the pit of my stomach. A niggling ache. But that one ounce of strength I have left helps me to climb up onto the rocks and out of the water for a moment. I get time to recover before the next onslaught and the voice subsides. I cant complain because these explorer eyes get to see so much more. New horizons. New worlds. More than you could imagine. I’ve made friends with loneliness.

Thankyou so much to Bell for the really lovely testimonial. <3

We climbed down into an old mine to explore and photograph it. This mine is about 500- 600 meters long, the ice is wonderful so you can walk quite safely, a wonderful day in the underground.
