So having decided to get to grips with my macro lens the old school oil and water attempt was made....needless to say I need some more practise to master this!

Lottie the baby white rhino at Colchester Zoo. Casually running around and terrorising the other rhinos it was quite amusing to watch.

Multiple exposure plays a bit with reality and asks the eye to look closely to see what's happening. Bits and pieces make a whole. Nice drama with diagonal angles while strong vertical anchors hold things firm. Panels of muted color keep things simple. Altered reality creates interest.

The 90m light tunnel connecting Kings Cross to St Pancras Square. Interesting to see first thing in the morning without hoards of tourists swamping the area.

Whilst on our long weekend we were very fortunate to be upgraded to a suite in our hotel. The view from the suite looked like this and was stunning.

In the lagoon of Venice lies the old fishing huts not far off shore, some are still used today maintaining the old traditions

Millions of bats streaming across a sunlit sky are breathtaking to watch - and capture. The silhouetted palm is a perfect anchor against the moving tableau and the vastness of the universe. The mix of warm and cool, along with the implied diagonals, add energy to the scene. Colors define shapes that fit like puzzle pieces. Spatial relationships are clear.
