"Teampall Nua (New Church) replaced an older chapel which was used by the Earls of Desmond. The present structure dates from 1679 – a simple rectangular building. It was endowed with a chalice and patten which bear the inscription: “The guift of the Right Honourable Rachel Countess Dowager of Bath to her chapel-of-ease Logh Guir, Ireland 1679” The famed poet harper Thomas O’Connellan who died in 1698 in Bourchiers Castle is buried here in an unmarked grave as is Owen Bresnan (1847-1912) local poet and historian who composed Teampall Nua and Sweet Lough Gur side".

I spotted this dandelion head growing amongst the grevillea and thought the colours looked pretty. These are SOOC and taken with my Canon 100 mm 2.8 macro lens.

365 Project: A Prompt A Day 2011

14/365

I took this photo a day late. I had this idea yesterday, but because of the snow days we had this week, my husband has been working way into the night. He normally gets off at 9ish, but to make up for the work they missed Monday and Tuesday, he's not been getting home until after 11 (he goes in around 4).

DSNG 476 leads the Winter Photo Freight south past a location known as "Goblin Fire" on the old DRGW Silverton Branch. Due to a distinct lack of snow this winter, the charter trains were able to go further north than the normal, allowing for this opportunity.

I have many photos taken from Riverside towards the railway bridge, none in the other direction. So I thought I'd take the opportunity of a train trip to Scotland in the snow to redress the balance. iPhone shot processed with Snapseed.
