Fairly productive day at Delamere Forest

A strange sculptural tree shot using the Trioplan 100mm f2.8.

Took this while i was on a roadtrip with my girlfriend. Because everything in Basel, Switzerland was too expensive, we decided to hop over the border to France and explore the area a bit.

Shot with the ZEISS Distagon 25mm 2.0

A different photo from the same day as my 2 previous shots. After warming up in the car a few minutes I decided it was too beautiful not to take a walk and get a few more shots along the river.

~Enjoy, my friends ..

DRI from 3 shots +/-2 EV, Photomatix Fusion.

Editing with Aperture:

- strong S-Curve

- RGB separated Curve to edit the white-balance of the Jpeg without clipping highlights (gamma correction of the RGB-cannels).

- local tone-control: shifted the Colors to get that kind of autumn look.

- gamma-vignette

- sharpening and frame in PS Elements 8.

Taking the shot and I get photobombed by hundreds of Brent Geese :)

The very tiny Common Blue Butterfly: my favourite butterfly...

I took this while on a walk last weekend in Vancouver and when I ran it through Analog Efx (just playing around for the Sliders Sunday group) this treatment stood out to me as a somewhat symbolic of the heart breaking crisis of separated migrant children in the US who are being denied their childhood, locked up in cages at detention centres, fearing for their future and already deeply traumatized by what they have experienced in their home countries, and now this.
