This is a very telephoto shot of Mt Slesse from a lookout in Chilliwack. There was a distant camp fire in the valley causing some haze in the image. Wishing everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. All the best to everyone and your family's this Holiday season. Kris....

Sometimes I see birds or squirrels eating the wizened crabapples from the ornamental crabapple trees in the yard. ... I should taste one some day to see if it is anything like a normal crabapple. Can't imagine they taste very good... but this little guy seemed worried that I might be there to steal his...
They often bury them in the plant pots that have dirt in them all winter .. I dig them out in the spring. Sometimes I even find them in the Christmas greenery I put into some empty pots on the front porch.

I love all kind of trees as everyone has its own fingerprint. Look at this pine with its odd form that does not fit into the shape of what I've seen todate. It is as if it would have assimilated to the shape of the prevailing apple trees in the area and therefore has grown more horizontally than vertically.
Thank you so much for viewing and favoriting my explored image! I'd be happy you to check out some of my other images too!

CAIRN: Stones stacked on TOP of another. Used as a marker, monument, or memorial of some kind. Cairns are sometimes used to mark points along hiking trails. Smaller Cairns are also used in recent times as decorations, often balancing one stone on TOP of another, forming a small stack, as in this photo.
Theme: "Top"
