Zygopetalum is a genus of the orchid family naturally occurring in the humid forests of South America, with most species in Brazil.
They are known for their fragrant, waxy, and long-lived flowers with multiple blooms in shades of green, purple, burgundy, and raspberry with several patterns.

More very heavy rain and Thunderstorms are forecast for today. Miss Cheeky decided to get her Riverwalk in before that happens. As it turned out she was very adventurous this morning and did some exploring along the Mangrove track being built which leads to the Hunter River. Almost there, just a few more meters to go. Demanding work carting rocks and bricks as well as gravel to build the track.
Finding new places is always a great #experience. Getting out of the normal path even in common places. Is not always easy, but it is worth it.

I have fun personalizing greeting cards and typing out my mailing labels on this! I need to paint my nails fire engine red and wear high heels when I get this baby out.

So I learnt today that balancing outside on a table in the wind, while trying to do crane stance and press the remote control is not easy. My sensei would not be impressed with my hand position.

Primarily for my own record, these are my photos that have reached Explore -- at least for a brief minute. Somehow, as I write this, the middle one, #3 Along Old Almonte Road, seems to be still hanging in there, but I'm not sure why as I've never thought of it as one of my faves. All of the others, including the more recent one, which is possibly my fave of the group, have been dropped from the the venerated and august Explore echelon.
