Popped into to the gardens this afternoon to check on one of my favorite spring flowers. They are just about over, but found a few still with deeper color. It seems they too suffered from our cool spring and most were lacking colors.

I was out for a hike the other day and I was sitting on the bench and notice this little guy crawling up my leg. He was so tiny, I just kind of like flicked him off. Sure enough I look down and watch as he crawls up on to the bench right beside me. I zoomed in my camera on him and it was funny to see how interested he was in the phone, whenever I moved it from side to side his eyes would follow.

Anyways, thought this pic tuned out pretty good, especially for being taken on my phone, let me know what you think!!

These photos were taken on a long day trip that started and ended in Victoria BC. It is one of a number of wonderful photoadventures I've been on with my friend Karsten.

Deroche Mountain, dusted with snow, stands tall in the Fraser Valley.

Using my infrared filter to get the depth I like in my black and white images. This location is a short 20km drive west of Revelstoke, so scenic!

I went into highschool very unsure about things. I was competent in school, but not so much socially. I had a couple of friends though they were all much more outgoing and ended up finding their own circles. We still talked, and I also found my own circle. Before I managed that though I ended up making friends with Alexa, who happened to be in my science class. She was the first friend I made in highschool. A few weeks into highschool I introduced her to some other friends I had made and it went on from there.

Fast forward a few years to the Harry Potter Musical. Alexa was cast as Hermione by Ryan (101/265), and together her and Daniel (131/365) helped Ryan learn to sing. Sort of. The drama program was an amazing time. Being a drama program there certainly were a few dramatics. Come the next year and Alexa started getting more into lifestyle alternatives. Veganism, Buddhism, a couple others. She became a bit of a punching bag for Reid (65/365), Daniel and I as we would call her out on not following along to the trends she claimed to be adapting. A lot of tension formed, though for the most part it was looked over.

If I could take it back I would. I often feel like a lot of the tension never subsided. There are moments when I can feel it, like electricity in the air. When I say the wrong thing, or am in the wrong place, I see a look. I don’t know if she even registers it. Maybe she isn’t even exuding it, perhaps it’s just in my head. Regardless, I feel a lot of tension around Alexa, more often than I would like. Though, for the most part, she’s still one of my closer friends. As I mentioned she was the first friend I made in highschool. Maybe that isn’t something many people think about, but for me it was really important. We’ll see where things go, but I’m hopeful for the best.
