Today was a day of new discoveries while driving home from up island on an incredible sunny and hot day!
This rock carving appears to be fairly recently done - I am not sure what the history is on it and would love to know if anyone out there does know who carved it and when. Awesome atmosphere with the sun's rays coming through the trees.
Looking east towards the Penticton Indian reserve. This mountain always catches my eye when the sun is hitting it.

At 3pm, I just caught the tail end of a beautiful sunset. I loved the chilly purples and pinks tied in with the light dusting of snow. Hope you enjoy!
We were out taking photos of the aurora and on the way back in while walking down our local pier, this scene played before us - had to stop and take it in.
So quiet and peaceful from the normal hustle and bustle.

Satinflower (Olysinium douglasii) blooms for a very short time in early spring on Vancouver Island. The southern part of Vancouver Island is one of the few locations in British Columbia where there are reliable views of this beautiful member of the iris family.
