Our investigations into non-recent child sexual exploitation are ramping up with five suspects arrested in relation to reports of abuse in Oldham between 2011 and 2014.
Detectives in our dedicated CSE Major Incident Team have been working closely with the survivors at the centre of these cases, gathering evidence and intelligence, with unwavering determination to bring child abusers to justice.
This action involved the execution of five warrants simultaneously at addresses in Oldham, Tameside, and Manchester.
These offences follow a disclosure from an Oldham survivor that forms part of a complex and wide-ranging investigation codenamed ‘Operation Sherwood’ which draws on our effective partnership with Oldham Council.
We have previously arrested six suspects as part of this investigation. They were placed on police bail with significant child protection conditions to adhere to, whilst our investigation continues.
The five men arrested this morning remain in custody for questioning.
The suspects are not necessarily all linked, but they collectively relate to four survivors we are supporting.
Assistant Chief Constable Steph Parker, lead for Protecting Vulnerable People, said: “The survivors at the centre of these cases have placed their trust in the GMP of today, and have the confidence to support prosecutions, which we hold to the highest regard.
“We are working closely with them, while they receive tailored support from partnership agencies, moving forward at a pace and in a manner that is right for them.
“Our investigative teams are piecing together all the evidence and taking robust action as soon as we can. Bringing child abusers to justice is why our detectives work so tirelessly day-in day-out. It’s essential we get this right and build strong case files to present the best possible case in court.
“We are now making significant strides in our pursuit and activity is only going to continue ramping up. We will not allow time to be a barrier to justice and any abusers in Oldham or beyond should be warned that we are coming for them.”

L'utilisation des VTT à proximité des chalets est interdite. Cette source de bruit est donc éliminée à proximité des secteurs d'hébergements. Mais pêcher à proximité d'un sentier où ils sont autorisés est parfois fort désagréable.

SAD asks Kejriwal to sack Sanjay Singh, Durgesh Pathak on Women’s ‘exploitation’ :-
The Shiromani Akali Dal has asked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal to defend the allegation that his leaders in Punjab exploited women sexually. The Akalis have asked the Delhi chief minister to fire AAP Punjab affairs in-charge Sanjay Singh and national organisation-building in-charge Durgesh Pathak from all party posts in Punjab.
“Kejriwal cannot just tweet away his worries,” said Rajya Sabha member Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. Chief minister’s adviser Maheshinder Singh Grewal asked Kejriwal to explain to Punjabis how he let moral turpitude go on under his nose.
“Either you expel all those 15 legislators and others in the scandal or we presume that you were hand in glove with them,” said Dhindsa. “The SAD has maintained all along that Kejriwal presides over people who lust for money and women,” said Grewal. “The disclosures of AAP legislator colonel Devender Sehrawat now prove it.”
The two Akali leaders said it was shameful that the AAP had not acted on the complaint of colonel Sehrawat. “We laud the courage of this true disciple of Anna Hazare and demand the unmasking of the sexual offenders for action against them,” said Dhindsa. Expressing surprise over Sanjay Singh’s saying that the allegations were baseless, Grewal said: “Every sin has its origin and Sanjay Singh can’t be his own judge.”
Romance scams, where fraudsters exploit emotional connections for financial gain, continue to ruin people who are tricked into investing in fake crypto websites and apps.
Recent raids on online gambling operations in Cambodia have unveiled the scale of this problem, with centres housing 100 to 150 individuals engaged in fraudulent activities.
Cybercrime’s complex nature calls for a need for all parties involved —police, prosecutors, and judges— to work together to ensure that evidence is preserved and presented effectively.

Banded iron-formation in the Precambrian of Ontario, Canada.
This is an exposure of glacially eroded, Archean-aged, folded, magnetite-rich banded iron formation (BIF). An adjacent roadcut shows these BIFs perched atop basement rocks. Occasional patches of shiny glacial polish are present.
I'm not absolutely sure about the formal stratigraphic name of this unit at this site, but it appears to be the Michipicoten Iron-Formation (Neoarchean, 2.696 to 2.749 billion years old).
The exposure is anthropogenic - the original vegetation and soil was stripped away after visible gold was discovered in a shear zone/fault zone nearby. The inactive Ranson Gold Mine occurs near here, which exploited the same gold occurrence that was found in the stripped area. The basement rocks below the BIFs are part of the Bridget Lake Stock, which consists of “quartz feldspar porphyry”. The Bridget Lake Stock is supposedly the source of the gold mineralization.
Locality: Antoine Lake West Outcrop - glacially eroded exposure on the southern side of Route 17, just west of Antoine Lake, southeast of Bridget Lake, south-southwest of the town of Wawa, Michipicoten Greenstone Belt, Ontario, southeastern Canada (47° 53’ 44.43” North latitude, 84° 50’ 46.62” West longitude)
