Ready To Explode (Mongaguá)

Coliseu do Rock

27/11/2010

From my coldest dive ever. These seem to manage 1°C despite less food around for them too.

not really, but that was the impact that it had on me when I happened to catch sight of it in my peripheral vision

Exploding Pyrex and Carrots - Exploded while roasting carrots in the oven at 350F. Purchased in 2011, it is the newer, cheaper lime soda glass and not the older borosilicate. Amazon review here: www.amazon.com/review/RWP0LW9GFO8EB/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm

4th of July 2011 from Seattle. Fireworks galore as they go off. I used BULB mode on the camera and F/8 to take most of the shots. Enjoy!

water splash - closeup of water splashing - image called explode.

To be fair, I really don't know where the idea for this came from.

Well, it was sports day and I was mid hyper-ventilating from running the 1500 (joy of joys- I came 5th. Out of 6 people. BUT I MISSED OFF FROM COMING 1ST IN JAVELIN BY 4MM!!!! 4MM!!!! That is total cruelty. It could've at least been a joint place!!! Ho hum, c'est la bien vie) when my caring chum Katie suddenly says-

"That would make such a good picture!"

Me (wheezing): W-w-what :cough: w-w-wwheeeze- would make a good picture? (takes a second to close eyes and think about anything other than the fact her lungs may explode any moment)

Katie: That orange peel!!! And, kind of my hand reaching out for the orange-like I'm dying!!!

Me: (whispering from pain and physical exertion now) Like m-meee right nooow??

Katie: Yeah, like you! Right now!!!

Me: (loses consciousness for milisecond) (regains consciousness) L-l-et me just get

my phone....

SNAP!

Well.

The product of the conversation was this rather random picture, and the discovery that my best friend cares more about a piece of orange peel on the grass than whether I am about to collapse or not.

Oh yeah. And she gains inspiration from dying people.

(joke. I love you really Kit-kat. You rule!!!)

Los Angeles, California. I'm not sure what this is but it's one of the few flower shots I got that I like. There's a great variety of flowers in the Getty Center Central Garden but no room for a tripod on the walkway and there's little shade so be prepared for full sun unless you go at either end of the day.

The big day-Sweet 16. I took this right before we left for the country club. Man she was a stoked and dad was $9000 broke. Was it worth it? I don't know, I just want my baby never to grow up.

The flowers seem to be exploding out of this house on Rua Dr. Alfredo Costa in SIntra, Portugal

Well, there's dedication for you! My first day of rain contended with, on top of the worry my newly-exploding car engine was giving me. Things can only get sunnier... I hope!

This splash looks exceptionally powerful. Probably one of my favorite from this set.

Art by Douglas Coupland at "The Shops at Don Mills", Don Mills, Toronto.

From Wikipedia:

"The Shops at Don Mills is a lifestyle centre - type shopping centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the site of the demolished Don Mills Centre site at the southwest corner of Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East in the planned community of Don Mills. It opened on April 22, 2009.

Storefronts face a network of private internal streets, and is centred around a square which includes interpretive historical plaques and commissioned art by Douglas Coupland.

Anchors include the supermarket chain Metro, bookseller McNally Robinson and the LCBO."

Al parecer mi clase de metodología era la meca de los dibujos en ese semestre, en ocasiones mejor escuchaba música o al menos la imaginaba para no dormirme.
