Kiron MC 28mm f2 wide open.

Thanks to urtica for identifying these seeds as Erythrina, or coral beans.

The pod was so hard, more than two years after I found it, that I had to use pliers to crack it open. You were right, urtica: the beans and pods were the same plant!

A reflection of the sun in a nearby building's windows made this pigeon seem to glow and explode.

Serendipity this one! I was experimenting with the autofocus on my camera . Interested to see if it would be fazed by a mirror I took this picture. I liked it so much that I then flipped it (to un-reverse the mirror image) and shared it with you out there!

Yet one more exploding head. A fairly trite now, but I like how the splatter looks.

good food, good friends, good drinks, good fireworks!

doesn't this sort of look like a tic exploding?

Special thanks to Johnny for taking Kathy and I out last night to show us the ropes and share his truckload of light art toys (not joking). Fun night that involved getting busted by the cops, showing my 8 yr old nephew that photography isn't just about pointing and shooting, and learning a few things. Yay!

This is an upgraded version of Exploding planet 1

Yesterday evening I did some shooting at a fair in my hometown. Totally out of my comfortzone; I usually don't shoot in the evening.

It wasn't that easy and I am happy with the result.

For this picture I dropped my lens down while shooting, so I would get expolding lights.

This exploded view shows the individual pieces that will be printed.

I got bored so I decided to blow up a planet in blender

Celebration of lights: Spain

In the city of Vancouver, the celebration of lights is an annual thing consiting of four nights of fireworks. This was the second night. I wish I could go to the next two but unfortunatley I'm busy.

This was my first time going back t the fireworks from a few years ago... and my god, I forgot how BUSY andCROWDED it gets. There's an estimate of 1.4 million people attending the beaches of Vancouver to watch this 20-30 minute event.

So this whole thing ended around 10:30ish and I got home around 12:30. Commute back home was HELL! I feel super bad for claustrophobic people because there were just people and bodies EVERYWEHRE.. with no space to breathe.

ANYWAYS, choosing which picture to put up was really hard. This isn't my favourite but I felt like it needed some attention :) ...This ws my first time taking firework pictures with my nikon and I'm satisfied with the results. I was kind of sad because I packed up too early and missed te finale.. WHICH was freaking amazing, and would have been even more amazing if I caught it on camera... But the only reason why I packed early was so that my equipment wouldn't get lost/damaged when the 1.4 million people decided to get up. .. so better safe than sorry right?

:)

Background for a gift tag. I had created these ornaments in 3D for another project and repurposed them for the background of gift tags my company was attaching to the annual holiday gift. Created in Luxology modo and Photoshop. Used the HDP panorama of the Lincoln for the lighting.

I spent my boring school day today drawing this on photoshop haha

From my coldest dive ever. These seem to manage 1°C despite less food around for them too.
