While preparing our photobook for 2009, I found some photos that I didn't post for some reason that escapes me now. They deserve a second chance.
This year, we were blessed to celebrate the auspicious night of Maha Shivaratri with Paramahamsa Vishwananda. The day began with the first abhishek to Hari Bhakta Poorna Shiva outside around midday. The air was cold, yet everyone was filled with enthusiasm as we witnessed Lord Shiva receiving this sacred abhishek.
At 6 pm, the celebrations continued in the temple. Every three hours were dedicated to a particular aspect of Lord Shiva. The entire night was filled with vibrant kirtan, leaving no opportunity for sleep. Guruji also graced us with His own kirtan, making the night truly special and unforgettable.
We were very fortunate to hear Guruji speak twice during this sacred night. The first satsang was given after the first abhishek. Guruji spoke about how we often run away from reality. Our heart feels one thing, but we rationalise everything with our mind, and as a result, we are constantly in inner conflict. He explained that Lord Shiva is always focused on the Divine Name.
Guruji reminded us that when we make excuses not to do our japam or to absorb our minds in satsang, we actually do have the time — we simply prioritise other things, such as social media.
His words were a powerful reminder to turn inward, to be honest with ourselves, and to place the Lord at the centre of our lives.

David Miliband an English dignitary visited many parts of the state. Rahul Gandhi talked to children and explained them the need of education. He also discussed with the teachers regarding the progress. They visited schools, hospitals, agricultural lands etc. Rahul Gandhi wants the entire villages in the country to develop.
This is my shot for the fear project. As with my consumption, I suppose this may be a bit minimalist. This is my way of portraying the fear of being overwhelmed by something that is rather insignificant.
This is also a stereogram, which means that when viewed correctly, it should give a 3D effect. It's like looking at a Magic Eye image, so if you know how to do that, you can see this. It's my first attempt at one, but I think it came out pretty well. Basically, you have to cross your eyes and relax your vision at the same time. It's hard for me to explain. Just as a side note, the middle image has the least of the cannon in focus, so it's a bit harder to get the 3D effect. It shouldn't be your starting point. In my opinion, though, it's the coolest of the three. So strive for that middle one, children.
On the way to the "Life of the Forest" trail Ian and I detoured past a site of a shipwreck. Considering we were about a quarter to half mile from the ocean, I thought this was kind of impressive.
