This young woman was one of our tour guides. She's pointing to a sarcophagus on display in the museum. The sign beside it reads:

Starting in the second century CE, both Christian and pagan Romans buried their dead in a stone coffin called a sarcophagus. A sarcophagus was usually carved with decorations and images of the deceased. Often the back was left uncarved because the sarcophagus would be placed against the wall of a tomb. Though Christians borrowed pagan designs for their carcophagi, the designs were reinterpreted to symbolize new Christian concepts.

I'm kidding! Honestly I don't really know what's up with German People but this might be a little helpful if you are looking for some insight.

So, this may take some explaining. Around the end of May in 2009 I noticed a huge lump on my eyeball underneath my eyelid. I went to the eye doctor, and they then referred me to another eye doctor. A day later my eye was blood-red, and the outer surface became saggy, and if you poked it, it resembled a bag full of pudding. For about a week after that I was put on 2 different medications, had 7 viles of blood taken, and got a 50 minute MRI on my brain. After all of this, they tell me it's cat scratch fever (I was surprised to find it wasn't just a song as well!), and as long as I take some antibiotics it should go away within a few weeks. I took the antibiotics for weeks, and it only allowed me 3 one-hour windows to eat a day. Nothing seemed to be happening so I stopped taking it after a few weeks. The lump is still there and no one knows what is is.

Pictures from "Film Noir" shoot at Light Play Studios in Buford, GA on March 12th.

In the Oscar Page collection there are two copies of this picture.

One is labelled "Logging Woods

Camp #1, 1906"

The other is labelled "S. P. Camp #4, 1907"

It is my understanding that the SP had three mills and one camp outside Marcola, which might explain one issue (Camp 1 is site no 4), but the year is still off. Not sure which is right and as there is no identifying background, we may never know.

If you can name anyone in this picture, please comment.

I've been building a lot of web 2.0 websites lately. It gets hard to explain to people how all the pieces fit together, so I put together this diagram to explain the relationships a little better...

Sanam explains the finer points of using a sewing machine to a student

I haven't even been using my gripper bars, as they would smash into the boxcar base. Instead my paper is held down with my home-made gauge pins and a rubber band.

I feel I should explain that the carpet here is the old carpet of the property I just bought and all the white bits on it are bits of scrapped wallpaper.

The camera is a Kodak Kodamatic 130 film camera form around 1924 with a ball bearing shutter that still works a treat.
