Walking around the city.

This is a SINGLE SHOT PHOTO. Last night I was playing around with idea to create a multi picture with one single long exposition. In this case I manualy fired a flash in my hand 3 times while moving infront of the objectiv. Also the fact that I was lucky to shoot the face in the middle extremly sharp brings up a lot of other ideas how to get advatage of this technique :-) Just need to reserve some time for that... however I'm looking forward to your experiments!

In this one we just dumped off all the marshmallows that hadn't been melted enough to stick to the plate. You can more easily see the areas that got more microwaves.

The result of a spontaneous trip to the supermarket! Let's pretend for a moment that this came from a legit market. Hahaha!

Ein Beispiel, wie man aus einem unterbelichtetem Foto noch ein akzeptables Ergebnis herausholen kann.

I Think I Got The Developing Timing Right This Time!

The spherical phantom is made of tissue-equivalent substance (judging by a colour it’s a meat equivalent). It contains a number of dosimeters which are placed at different depths, that corresponds to different tissues, e.g. 3mm depth corresponds to a crystalline lens, and 70mm - a central nervous system.

Another experiment with Photoshop. I could really do with this many clones, so that I could send at least one into work for me. But we'd probably just argue over which one had to do it. I'm like that.

An experiment: I’ve noticed some disparities with my exif data when I upload photos. Usually, they are dated a day after I took them . . . odd. I take a photo, say on Jan. 21, and it reads Jan. 22 (in most cases . . . which is why I want to post this taken today to see if it was taken tomorrow). I don’t know why my photos read taken the day after I shoot them. Win7? Nikon? Hmm. The same thing happens on my computer: I take a photo on Day1, but it reads as taking it Day2.

And . . . something with the focal length. Mr. Champlin (one helluva photographer) posted that 750mm was a telephoto. I would agree, had I had a lens longer than a 500mm. I think I have this one figured out, though. I shot the bluebird in RAW, and it records the 35mm equivalent format of the focal length from the RAW instead of JPEG. I think.

So what will the date read for this one? Taken Jan. 20, at approximately 10:00.

Just a little experiment with 'Macro' mode on the camera.

Nope. After some discussion with the older students earlier this week we decided on an experiment they had suggested to try out today.

For morning break, the K-3 students would use the playground and the 4-7 students would get it for the afternoon break.

This to relieve the congestion when both groups are on together which is the normal case. The older students had asked for the experiment.

This afternoon break, the older students were almost entirely away from the area.

When asked afterwards, the said that being off the playground in the morning had meant the creation of new games to play and so they know no longer felt the need for the age split.

At least they were part of the decision to return to the way I like it… cooperative play for all ages.

Experiment and challenge by Gerald Davies to use the Stone Sorrow photos (http://www.flickr.com/photos/98389526@N00/5339728034/) as a pastiche of a New Order Album (Flickr doesn't like the link so search for 'new order technique' on Google Image Search).

This one is probably a bit too pretty really, more psychedelic 1970s.

I never use the flash on my camera because it looks so horrible. So I was experimenting tonight with a piece of white cardboard held at an angle in front of my pop-up flash, to angle the light off the ceiling and make it less harsh.

These are some of the results. I'd say it's reasonably successful, especially for free. The cardboard piece has a strip of Velcro around it, so I just wrap it around the flash housing and it holds it in place. Doesn't look very classy, though.

This was taken with a flash right in front of this shelf. Without the bounce, the white jar in front would have been way too shiny.
