This photo was a test photo for the following: shooting this lens at or close to its 200 mm max focal length, at f/2.8, with no flash, at a pretty high ISO (2000), and with some overexposure so I could aim for less noise, and bring down the overexposure in post. I didn't get to overexpose it as much as I wanted because just this was @ only 1/15 of a second and even with IS that is crazy low. Anything more overexposed would've either warranted me raising the ISO which I didn't want to do yet, or an even lower shutter speed. Overall I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. It's definitely less sharp than photos taken with this lens and with flash/higher SS/lower ISO, but it's not awful. How am I going to learn if I don't try stuff? This photo wasn't even supposed to be a real photo…I wasn't going for composition or anything…but after some processing including the b&w conversion I kinda like it, or at least his eyes. I am not sure about how much his chin got cut off, but hey, it's an experiment!
2nd round / Fullspectrum Experiments:
More pictures! These are from the same last outing yesterday with the same camera, lens and filter setup. Here I applied „proper“ white balance (on the birches bark, simply) and look what I got. Again it's that almost velvia like green and high saturation over all. Actually this is what I found using UV-IR cut filters on this camera some time ago. I already experimentet with this - for some reason I need a diffusor, else I get some strange color artifacts on the edges. I don't know the physics really, but possibly it acts like an AA Filter? Anyway, this „film simulation“ is nice. When adding this Tiffen 812 like warming filter, blue gets subtle, too.
Autumn Apples
6-8 Med. Apples; I chose Gala, whatever you like for pies or scalloped apples will work
1/3 of a med. onion, minced; I had a red onion handy, Vidalia would be great, any will do
2-3 dashes of ground Cayenne pepper
3-4 shakes of cinnnamon
enough butter to sautee in
some sugar
about twice as much brown sugar as sugar
the last little bit of maple syrup left in the bottle
Peel the apples, and slice them thin. I used an eight slice cutter/corer, and then cut each segment into three slices
In a medium skillet over medium heat, combine all of the ingredients. Stir them occasionally, and cook, uncovered until the apples are tender and the sauce isn't watery.
Enjoy!

No adjustments made - wooden fence and brick wall have a natural curve (not a distortion) - horizon is very skewed.

I said it was hot enough to fry an egg outside so Echo went straight out to the front yard with an egg and tinfoil. Man, his fingernails are DIRTY! He's been playing outside, doing projects and experiments...
