Experiment to test the shutter and bellows integrity of a Kodak Folding Vest Pocket Autographic camera, circa 1917.
I didn't get anything resembling a proper photographic image, but i quite liked these accidentally abstract results...
I'd never really tried anything like this before, and what better time to experiment than while chasing a train that barely makes 5 mph?
...got a new flash gun today (a 430EX II :-) actually the first time I've ever really had a "proper" flash unit!), so when I got home I was very keen to experiment with what it could do... especially as it syncs wirelessly off camera with the 60D ...unfortunately no one else was in to be my guinea pig... so it had to be a selfie (sorry!) ...I was quite happy with the light though! (P.S. sorry for the clumsy photoshopping on the shelves but I wanted them a touch darker!)
Today I decided to experiment with my Voigtländer 15mm lens and as a result I discovered a spot on my sensor and I have been unable to remove it … I can’t even physically see it. I have examined some of my earlier photographs and have discovered that the spot has been there for months.
To be honest I am finding it difficult to use this lens, especially wide-open, because it is a manual focus lens. Some photographs have a lot of distortion especially when the camera is angled.
The Voigtländer 15mm 4.5 Super Wide Heliar E aspherical III is the first native E-Mount lens by Voigtlander. There are a few more on the way.
The Argentinian navy tall ship ARA Libertad (Q-2) arrived into Dublin port for the August bank holiday weekend. She is docked at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay and will be open to the public for visits until late Sunday.
Second one in a series of experiments with blur and color and color study. Your comments and impressions are welcome
This leaf was an experimental piece~the outside edge is wrapped with lead and I didn't know how difficult (or not) it would be to follow the curves of the design. It worked well~~so the next one I can use some fancier glass and split the bigger pieces to look more like natural veins. I didn't like how the bottom ended--will have to work on figuring that part. There's a piece of copper wire the I embedded into the bottom for the stem--I think the wire needs to be a thicker gauge.
Restriction digest and molecular weight markers... With GFP plasmid we cut before. Pretty sweet for a diy product.

An experiment. Is a bit complicated inside. After some refining I think I'm going to use it on a siege tank*-inspired vehicle. Or as the rear of a ship. I don't know. The application will have to decide the evolution. As it should be.
*Siege tank from starcraft: two mode-vehicle. Ordinary (tank mode), and after some unfolding artillery mode. This would be the beginning of the artillery cannon in that case.
..i finally found some free time to kill..still experimenting in new shapes and forms..this one for my good friend "BROKEN SYNTHS"..check him.
Proof of concept experiment. I had this idea that I could paint or draw different elements on separate pieces of paper, scan them, and combine them on the iPad in separate layers. I’d have the look of analog and the editing capabilities of digital.
