PREMIK RUSSELL TUBBS
Premik, a composer, arranger, producer and an accomplished multi-instrumentalist performs on various flutes, soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, wind synthesizers, and lap steel guitar.
Premik has worked with everyone from Carlos Santana, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Ravi Shankar, Narada Michael Walden, Clarence Clemons, Ornette Coleman, Jackson Browne, Jean-Luc Ponty, Lonnie Liston-Smith, Scarlet Riveria, James Taylor, Sting and Lady Gaga, just to name a few. He is equally adept in pop, R&B, jazz, world and experimental genres.
Sax solos on #1 Hits -: “How Will I Know” (Whitney Houston) and “Baby, Come To Me” (Regina Belle).
Premik's first major recording breakthrough was with John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra on the album“Visions of the Emerald Beyond.” Premik was a major part of the landmark Carlos Santana album "The Swing of Delight" which featured Herbie Hancock as co-arranger and co-musical director. Also featured were Wayne Shorter, Tony Williams, Ron Carter and several members of the Santana band.

This was a cooking experiment by my friend María, slightly based on (or rather, inspired by) what she'd heard of as Merluza a la marinera (Spanish recipe). It was an experiment because she didn't read any recipe prior to cooking. Instead, she just came up with this :-)
And this photo is me experimenting with food photography. I just took advantage of her work to practice lessons learned from this tutorial from webos fritos. If you know of any good tutorial on food photography, please share!
I love cooking too, but I'm by far not the best cook at home. For the time being I'll focus on shooting (and eating ;-) what others cook. When I get comfortable with the shooting, I'll try to do the cooking as well.
This is my first go at trichrome imaging. The images were taken as monochrome JPEGS using red, green and blue filters. The images were then minimally processed for exposure values and then added to the RGB channels of a new PSD document.

A lot of the "proper seed" soybeans I planted either didn't germinate or got eaten after emerging. As an experiment I planted some dry beans I had around for cooking...and it seems that most germinated just fine. We'll see what the difference is between these and the fancy packaged seeds. These were about 60 cents per pound at the healthfood store!

(See link) Norfolk Southern Railway cuts Knoxville operation
Norfolk Southern Railway is dissolving its Central Division headquarters, affecting about 50 local jobs, the company announced recently. “The Central Division, which was based in Knoxville, those operations are going to be combined with the operations of three other divisions,” said Susan Terpay, Norfolk Southern director of public relations for Tennessee and 12 other states.
That means the roughly 250 workers who remain at Knoxville’s rail yard will be reassigned to report the divisions based in Birmingham, Alabama, Decatur, Illinois, and Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The consolidation will take place Nov. 1. The move will end train dispatching from Knoxville, but the yard will continue to be a hub for through-train operations, according to a company news release. The jobs remain, it’s just that the authority for them will go to a different division.

Just got my Pro account back. I feel like I should abuse it a little, and whatever this is, I love it.
This experimental macro photo was sourced from a stack of 88 images. It lacks any depth of field and I made no attempt to simulate reality. In my opinion, it looks like a cross between a photo, a computer generated image, and a drawing.
This flower is commonly known as Bee Balm, but also goes by Monarda. Its structure is fitting of the presentation.
