comments and critique welcome, I am not sure if I like this or not.

Bowl, Olive Oil and iPad. :-)

This is a photo taken during a video I saw in 2018 at MOMA showing the work of Bogdan Bogdanovic (1922–2010), a Yugoslav architect who made very sculptural monuments to the war dead. This is a detail of the visit to one called the "Stone Flower" and is found in Croatia.

When I took the photo during the film which was in b&w, the composite colors, perhaps resulting from having used panchromatic film, came through and I found this transformation interesting.

On this experiment, I used ink and PVA glue to explore a different concept upon drawing and shades. The ink breaks down creating interesting and unpredictable shapes.

Experiment : backlit at night with a torch

tiddy a feral cat i have fed for years that lives at the end of my garden. tiddy has shelter, a bench and food. she knows she's safe

panasonic lumix tz70

this morning i experimented with my new camera on the scene setting but also used the focus lever. it's a lovely camera to hold and the weight all ok ... but practise, practise, practise

i had been waiting for a panasonic lumix tz90 but there is a global shortage of point and shoot cameras petapixel.com/2021/10/15/the-camera-industry-is-trapped-d... i was on various waiting lists but no stockist had any idea when it would be available. a panasonic lumix tz70 was in stock last week www.lcegroup.co.uk/New-Equipment-Home/ i bought it rather than have a possible prolonged frustrating wait for the tz90

for many years my garden was a shrubbery flic.kr/p/Lhv9ag which i loved. a picket fence covered in an ivy hedge coming down in a storm meant that over time changes had to happen flic.kr/p/2mn2x8a i'll be glad when the trellis is covered in honeysuckle and jasmine. that's the plan ...

One of my latest adventures on the tradigital universe. I decided to experiment a bit more, and little by little I can feel that I'm on the way to find something interesting to develop further. Graphite, acrylics and gouache on Fabriano 300gms, digital.

For some time, I've set my sights on capturing more complex exposures involving hard/contrasting light conditions - mostly because I'm too lazy to get out for the sweeter early morning light. It also requires a learning curve on my part with Photoshop as Lightroom has been my go to app for several years. Looking at some of the images on Flickr by photographers whose work I admire like, Gavin Hardcastle, flic.kr/ps/NBGMP has inspired me to experiment with blending exposures.

The mid afternoon light in this scene was terrible with the sun over/behind the falls and a grey patchy sky being blown about by gusty winds. I shot two exposures - one for the sky and one for the darker cliff walls. Consequently, the final image was an experiment to see how the two would blend together. Next is focus stacking.

just an experiment, manual focus stacking

Karlsruhe, Schloß, Badisches Landesmuseum, Wandbehang v. Margret Eicher

Experimenting at the weekend

I borrowed some close-up lenses from a friend but hadn't have the chance yet to test them. So last Sunday I grabbed my camera and stuff and went for a little walk. Unfortunately it was to windy for any kind of macros and nothing turned out the way I wanted it to be. Was fun anyway... And I kind of like the way this jumping jacks flowers look like. More testing is required!

Playing with an old image.

Experimenting with soap films is fascinating.

Thanks to "Jane in Colour" I learned how to take macro images of them.

Thank you for your wonderful idea, dear Jane!

Experimenting with some water-drop photography. Water and some inexpensive food colouring. Splash.

I had overexposed this darkroom print so I might do as well some experimentation.

1) The print was bleached strongly, and redeveloped in expired Foma sepia.

2) After about 10 minutes there was only a half faint image, and I decided to replenish the Sepia B dilution with some fresh stuff.

3) To my surprise the toner now only reacted to the dark tones, where normally sepia reacts more to the mid tones and highlights. With this rather graphic image as a result.

It may well be this particular print. but nevertheless interesting enough to share.

on the road with science...

Experimenting a fusion with my self-portrait and a photo of the Bilbao Guggenheim museum I made just few weeks ago

I was experimenting not only with the lensball but also with the Lightroom camera that is available on the iPhone. If you are in the Lightroom app, you can actually take a RAW photo in DNG format. It even did an HDR, DNG file.

Experimenting with colored lights, white lights and a gelled flash today. I have the sides of the bubble blocked with black cards to help define the shape. I'll share the bts on my Instagram story.

Normally I aim to shoot everything in one photographic exposure but as a little experiment I've Photoshopped in a star trail shot from the previous night. The results look good to me but I will forever hang my head in shame at the thought that Photoshop is the work of Satan herself! (Kidding!)

this was a fun exercise!

My first efforts with my drop kit last night, I decided to start at the deep end with an attempted collision in a bubble. I didn't quite achieve the collision but there was something about this one which I liked.

I'm currently using two flash guns when, ideally, four would be preferable so I tweaked the ISO up a little to 400. I used Xantham gum for the drop with a dilution of this substance also added to the reservoir. The bokeh is created using glitter paper.

I feel a bit like a mad scientist at the moment with many more liquid experiments planned!

0.5 sec exposure, f16, mirror lock-up.

Thanks in advance for any comments or favourites you may wish to make.

Experiment in uniform brightness. The original photo is converted to all hues at brightness 75%, overlaid with edge detection drawing at 7 equally-spaced brightnesses at hue 30°. Overlaid over a white to hue 30° gradation at brightness 192. Then contrast upped with Lightroom.
