This is a photograph from the East of Ireland Marathon Series Marathon held at Stapelstown, Donadea, Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland at 09:00 on Saturday 21st of September 2013. This is the first East of Ireland Marathon Series race outside of Dublin and also the first to have been run on rural roads and is race 5 of the East of Ireland Marathon Series 2013.

There was beautiful but warm weather in Stapelstown for the marathon which made conditions tougher than expected. The course brought runners on a loop from the village over towards Prosperous, Co. Kildare, and then back to the finish/refreshment area. The event was very well organised and whilst these races operate with a degree of self sufficiency for runners there was adequate marshalling, course marking, and refreshments available. Well done to all.

The East Of Ireland Marathon Series aims to make marathons affordable and convienient for the runners of Ireland. The serires organisers aim to promote marathon running and to make the process as stress free and enjoyable as possible. All courses are measured to full AAI standards and have a minimum of 10 Entrants. The marathons are self sufficent to a degree although there are limited supplies of water available on the day of the race. There will be no extra frills like chip timing and finish gantrys. However all finishing times are accurately and officially recorded. This is to keep the price down and keep the races as affordable as possible. The East of Ireland Marathon series is all inclusive and welcomes runners who are new to marathon running as well as experienced veterans.

This photograph is part of a Flickr set of photographs we took at this event. The Flickr set is available here [http://www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157635665725976/]. This set includes photographs from the start, in-race, and finish of the race.

Overall Race Summary

Participants: The East of Ireland marathon series stricly limits the number of participants. There were about 50 participants in the race today.

Weather: There was warm sunny weather for the race with competitors finding the humid conditions very tough as the race progress on around mid day. There was no real wind but a breeze which did help keep runners cool.

Course: The race started at St. Kevin's GAA and proceeded west into Stapelstown Village and reached a turnaround point which brought runners back to the starting point. This meant that runners then had to complete four complete loops of the 6.09 mile loop outlined below. This loop then proceeded directly southwards towards Prosperous but makes a sharp right turn before Properous village. This brings runners onto the Ballynafagh road and northwards back towards Stapelstown village. Runners then run down through the village (passing the finish and refreshment area) to complete the loop. The course is on traffic open country roads.

You can share to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.

How can I get full resolution copies of these photographs?

All of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution. We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images without the watermark: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us.

This also extends the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.

If you would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

i had my first track meet of the season on Thursday, which was great. I got 3rd in 100, 2nd in 200, 3rd in longjump, and our 4x4 team got 1st. Which means that we just might win league this year!

Anyways, we went to my friend Allison's grandpa's house (she's in the picture before this one) and the hills were supposed to be covered in flowers, but they weren't. Plus the light was crap. So, we wandered up and down the mountain and tried to find shade that wasn't too dark (reflector coming in the mail, thank goodness). I think i got a few good ones, but I am afraid of getting too repetitive in shoots.

But i am so happy. I feel like i've rediscovered photography.

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.

One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.

The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine

quietly.

Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.

I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.

That is the meaning of a rebirth.

I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.

After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After

she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies

until I realized it is love?

I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the

daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.

I had been thinking about such a thing.

However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see

something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable

tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.

Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

The Army were out in force this afternoon!

A protest march against the TTIP (Trans-Atlantic Trade & Investment Partnership) took place in Dublin Saturday 23rd April 2016, leading off from the Central Bank building in Dame Street and on to the office of the EU Commission at Lower Mount Street. The weather was excellent, the mood cheerful and the march went off peacefully without incident. I’d reckon about 200 people took part in the march but dismayed there were not more as I’d have wished. However and as expected, there appeared to be no representation present from the mainstream media or RTE to help raise public awareness of the TTIP and what it is about. The protest was also against the CETA (Comprehensive & Economic Trade Agreement) which is the TTIP’s equivalent between Canada and the European Union (EU).

Let’s not be misled by such high-sounding titles such as “Trans-Atlantic Trade & Investment Partnership” and “Comprehensive & Economic Trade Agreement” that imply economic importance and benefits. Let’s be in no doubt these so-called agreements are not simply “Trade Agreements” but are Corporate Trade Treaties that will be binding on all incumbent national states. They are also called “Free Trade" agreements but that means free-trade as in the absence of regulation and only for the benefit of the multinational corporations themselves. In theory, any business can invoke the TTIP, CETA, etc to put their case through an international ISDS tribunal, but in practise it will only be the big multinationals who have both the financial and legal resources to benefit from and use the corporate trade treaties for their own ends.

These corporate trade treaties are a massive undertaking designed to give multinationals what they want – more power over national states and the wholesale deregulation of global trade. It is primarily about the removal of barriers to their trade, both the remaining fiscal barriers and technical or regulatory barriers which could be deemed to hinder their trade and future profit-making. A major concern is that the likes of TTIP and CETA will undermine regulatory legislation that have been fought for and built up over decades. Legislation that protects our environment, employment standards, food safety standards, health & safety standards, etc as well as concerns of giving multinationals the power to intervene directly in the legislative processes to veto or water down regulatory legislation that may be deemed to affect any aspect of their profits or business. To enable this, all the corporate trade treaties will have the ISDS (Investor State Dispute Settlement) as their main weapon, the ‘teeth’ of the Treaties. ISDS has existed for some years and has already been used by some multinationals to prosecute national states worldwide for passing laws that affected their operations and profits, some of these disputes have sought to restrict laws for environmental protection or to prevent a sovereign state from increasing the national minimum wage. The corporate trade treaties will give a new legal status to ISDS that will embolden the multinational corporations and facilitate increasing numbers of cases against national states.

The process by which the EU Commission seeks to impose TTIP and CETA on the EU Member States is anti-democratic and shows a total lack of transparency. All negotiations are held in the highest secrecy and only certain members of the US Chamber of Commerce and the EU Commission are privy to all the details, maybe key multinationals and their representative organisations too. National governments and even members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are excluded. Only recently and under duress, the EU Commission have set up a secure reading room for viewing selected portions of the TTIP documentation and with extreme restrictions. Only MEPs (European Council members too?) can apply and be allowed to view the documentation but no photography, dictation or verbatim note taking is allowed, each MEP has a limited reading time so not much can be read. Special security procedures are also in place to check and trace possible leaks. Should it come to the attention of the EU that any portion of the TTIP text has made its way into the public domain, in detail or verbatim, all MEPs will immediately lose the 'privilege' of being allowed further access to the TTIP reading room. No one outside the US Chamber of Commerce nor the EU Commission have full access to the documentation, so national governments and their citizens do not yet know what is fully involved with the CETA and TTIP. But from the meagre and censored releases (the US are totally against any public releases of the text whatsoever) and leaks so far, there is no good news and all give cause for great concern. No wonder everything regarding the corporate trade treaties are being conducted in the highest secrecy. It seems there is nothing there to benefit the people or national governments and no evidence the corporate trade treaties will create jobs. But if one thing is certain, it will have a devastating and negative impact on many industries across Europe, especially agricultural and on European regulatory standards that protect our environment, employment rights, food & health safety and sovereignty.

So, who’s for and against the corporate trade treaties with regards to Ireland? It is likely the primary drafts were drawn up under the guidance of the multinational corporations and developed politically from there, with the same corporations being kept in the loop. The initiative came mainly from the American multinationals and so no surprise that the US Chamber of Commerce is the primary driver of all the corporate trade treaties (TTP, TTIP, CETA, TiSA, etc) with the EU Commission their negotiating partner on behalf of all the European Union. In Ireland, Fine Gael have come out in favour of TTIP and CETA, as have Labour by their association with Fine Gael. Michael Martin indicated during election campaigning that Fianna Fail is in favour too. Sinn Fein are against as are the other smaller parties and Independents. IBEC are in favour (no surprise there!). What about the Greens? Are there any pro-TTIP Independents too? What about trade unions, who’s for and against?

Ireland is way behind public awareness of what the corporate trade treaties are about and this is not surprising considering the silence from our mainstream media and government. Social media is doing a good job in spreading the message and expect more protests will help bring the TTIP and CETA to the attention of a wider audience. Ireland has a long way to go with regards to public awareness of the corporate trade treaties compared to continental Europe, especially Germany and the Netherlands. There would be very few members of the public that would agree with the TTIP or CETA if they were aware of what they really are and the threat they pose not only to Ireland but the whole of Europe as well.

Stuart Williams (24/4/2016)

PS:

The EU Commission is the executive arm of the European Union and as such, they yield ultimate power over all other EU Institutions and national states. All its members are unelected by any popular vote and are not accountable to any authority, yet they preside over all that happens and affects all the people of Europe. The democratic deficit that exists between the EU Commission's workings and the people of Europe is widely recognised and yet the EU Commission will ignore what they disapproves of and press ahead regardless with what they want done. The corporate trade treaties are a prime example of their anti-democratic approach to rule and lack of transparency. Cecilia Malmström, the EU Commissioner of Trade is leading the CETA and TTIP negotiations being held in secret between the EU Commission and the US Chamber of Commerce. She is quoted as having said "I do not take my mandate from the European people” Then the obvious question comes to mind, from whom does Cecilia Malmström or the EU Commission take its mandate from? In the case of the TTIP and CETA negotiations, it is surely not the European Council, certainly not the European Parliament, nor any national government of the EU as all have been excluded. Then from whom.....perhaps the army of corporate lobbyists that besiege both the US Government in Washington DC and the EU in Brussels?

It was quite a nice surprise to see val was home when i got home after work. I expected her to be out with her boyfriend but none the less she was there killing time. I started telling her about a photographer i discovered today jil greenberg and was in the middle of showing her the amazing images when i mentioned how i would like to do some portraits with some interesting lighting. I been shooting alot of val lately so i wasn't even going to bother asking her to do a shot with me today. She just got her hair done today so i guess she was in the mood to shoot because her face just lit up with a huge smile and said ok i want to do it. Well the shots came out nothing like jil greenberg but i stilled like the results with one light. I wanted to create a one dimensional light with some light fall off. I usually like to light evenly but in my constant search to get better i need to broaden my horizons. Its really amazing to have my best friend living with me she is making my 365 alot easier since moving in.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Illinois State Police (ISP) and the Illinois Tollway were joined by their industry partners today to kick off National Work Zone Awareness Week with a reminder to all Illinois motorists: Expect the unexpected driving

through work zones. To signal the start of construction season and call attention to the dangers of driving in work zones, Governor Bruce Rauner has signed a proclamation designating this week

as “Work Zone Safety Week” in Illinois.

“Construction season is underway. That means crews will be out working on the roads, often times just a few feet away from traffic,” said Acting Illinois Transportation Secretary Randy Blankenhorn. “Please slow down and eliminate distractions while driving through work zones.

The rules are very simple: See orange. Slow down. Save lives.”

The theme for this year’s National Work Zone Awareness Week is “Expect the Unexpected.”

Whenever motorists are traveling through work zones, they need to be aware of sudden lane closures and shifts, the presence of construction equipment, changing traffic patterns and speeds, as well as a host of other factors that can make work zones potentially dangerous places. More than 4,300 motor vehicle crashes occur in Illinois work zones every year. Provisional data shows that 29 people, including three workers, were killed in Illinois work zone crashes in 2014.

“Construction work zones can be hazardous to motorists and workers alike,” said ISP Col. Mike Zerbonia. “Motorists should prepare for the unexpected by reducing speed and staying focused on the road ahead. Speeding and distracted driving in a work zone is a dangerous offense with tragic consequences.”

Speed and inattentiveness are major contributors to work zone crashes. Workers are not the only ones at risk, either. Statistics show that approximately 90 percent of all work zone fatalities are

motorists.

This year, IDOT will be expanding on the Smart Work Zone technology introduced last year. The system utilizes computers to relay travel times via digital message boards in advance of an interstate work zone so motorists are aware of any backups and can seek alternate routes. Speed

indicator boards will be deployed again this year to increase awareness of work zone speed limits.

Illinois State Police also will continue to operate photo enforcement vans as another measure to reduce speeds in work zones. Signs are posted prior to motorists entering work zones where photo enforcement vans are stationed, with a speed indicator board above the van to give drivers one last chance to slow down.

“With so much construction on the Illinois Tollway this year, it’s important for drivers traveling

in work zones to use caution at all times,” said Illinois Tollway Executive Director Kristi

Lafleur. “Tollway customers can avoid surprises in work zones by planning ahead and visiting

our website for the latest project information and tools to help plan your trip.”

Fines for speeding in work zones are $375 for first-time offenders and $1,000 for a second offense, whether or not workers are present. If workers are present, motorists can lose their driver’s license for up to 90 days after a second violation. The penalty for hitting a worker is a fine up to $10,000 and 14 years in prison.

In recent years, Illinois has adopted distracted driving laws that prohibit the use of all hand-held electronic devices while driving at all times, work zones included. The use of electronic

communications devices or any other electronic device, to text, e-mail, compose, read or send

electronic messages or access internet sites while driving a motor vehicle also is prohibited.

Visit www.embracetheorange.com to take the Work Zone Safety Pledge and learn more about work zones.

This was the original text, but the video has now been extended by the inclusion of the 2nd and 3rd parts, never shown, taking the ride from Worksop back to Darnall, the video stops in Orgreave, at Orgreave Lane over-bridge.

Finally, a video sequence, taken through the window of our DMU service back to Darnall, where two of us had left out cars to get the train into Worksop at 11 this morning. The video was shot on my Samsung S7 phone and through the window of the class 144, 'rocking and rolling' along. It shows the rake of coaches and the class 345, 345023, sat on the nearest siding road to the main lines, albeit at the other side of the palisade fence which surrounds the HArry Needle's Yard. At this time, about 13:45, the rake of VTEC coaches and the rear DVT, 82226, have been reversed onto the line next to the Electric Unit and the DVT can be seen poking out beyond the line of grey/blue Electric Unit coaches. Some information about the 345 units, brought up from the Queen Elisabeth line in London-

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_345

At some point, the Yard will become much fuller and there is, we were informed, to be other classes and sets brought here for both storage and maintenance, so it looks like the place will be very lively indeed, though not accessible to photographers, easily... shame a viewing platform couldn't have been erected somewhere to facilitate the enthusiast requirements ... apologies for the various background noises! (this has now been dealt with to a large extent).

The additional parts, from Wales to Woodhouse and from Woodhouse to Orgreave, have now been included so that the full 'glory' of the Lincoln Line journey can be seen, taken with Adrian Wynn in June, 2019. Various other interesting aspects of the ride back, edited to last just over 6 minutes, can be viewed in the latter two sections..

Beautiful Lady and her Husband expecting Twins; Maternity; Pregnant; heavy with young; Michigan USA

多久不見你初次的美麗,依然在我心底未曾遠離 .....。

As expected, the winter storm has brought several inches of snow to our region and more is forecast today. The windy weather has caused outages around our service area, primarily in South and East King County especially the Enumclaw and Snoqualmie areas.

Few surfers showed some great tricks and high jumps which we were able to catch. Enjoy and expect our video from the event very soon! Too see previous photographs with some portraits go to this photo blog post.

Pudding finally has her own orange cons! They are a little paler than I expected, but they are super cute and fit very well. We got them from Sunnypigs along with two other colors and something I haven't showed Pudding yet! ;)

As expected the food was served on a tiered stand. The plate at the top contained most of the sandwiches and salty items (except for the sponge cake). It had the egg salad, bloaters, and cream cheese sandwiches. Sadly, it didn't contain cucumber sandwiches.

The second tier contained the scones. They were served with clotted cream and jam.

The last plate contained the sweet items. No Battenberg or fruit cake for us. Instead, we had lemon poppy seed cupcakes, macaroons and pecan squares. The plate contained a small dish of chocolate sauce.

Hermes staring at me while was trying to work at home. Who can resist?

Found some monarch eggs on our milkweed. We brought them inside to see if we can raise some butterflies.

'Expecting' was inspired by the close arrival of my first grandchild. It brings back like yesterday the anticipation of a new little bundle of love as I reflect on my own three children represented by the three birds nestled in the arm of the woman. Words of her inner thoughts peep through layers of paint on her swollen stomach.

This piece is 12x24" and is ready to be hung with the sides staple free and painted.

The cable hanger is welded to the frame. Something I did not expect but really like

I expected to see the blue ocean and tropical landscape. However, I was surprised at how many unexpected artistic touches I found around every corner. Honolulu, I love you!

Stephanie and Raul shot in studio are expecting twins a boy and a girl she is only 6 months right now and is showing like a ready to deliver mom. I look forward to seeing them in a few month when they bring the twins in for a newborn shoot.

The past 4 days have been spent in wonderful Iceland and I took far too many shots, so expect to see A LOT of Iceland shots in the coming weeks :p I also should point out that we booked this trip months before the collapse of their economy!

This was taken on the first night we were there. Taking advice from Tripadvisor.com, we booked a trip with Sigi at Superjeep and he took us out hunting these mysterious lights. In order to see these things, you need to have a clear night and also are reliant on there being solar flares a couple of days before you are there. Sadly the sun has not been flaring much recently and combined with a cloudy(ish) night we didn't get to see any lights. My camera, on the other hand, did!

I promise I haven't tweaked this in photoshop, the green is natural as is the big dipper in the top left. It's grainy due to the high iso and looked better in my camera screen, but I'm still happy with it considering the human eye couldn't see it :)
