August 25, 2018. Boston, MA.

Housing activists and concerned citizens organized by City Life/Vida Urbana rallied at Our Lady Guild House (OLGH), a rooming house in the Fenway.

OLGH is owned by an order of Catholic nuns called Daughters of Mary of the Immaculate Conception. It was originally part of the order's mission to create homes for single women, especially mature women. About 5 years ago, the mission changed. Older women were told they had to get out.

In the last year, no-fault evictions began and move-out deadlines were given. The OLGH management company, Marc Roos Realty, started advertising on their web site that they only want to rent to women age 18 to 50 years old. In response to the evictions and the apparently clear age discrimination, residents are organized and defending themselves in court.

Two of the women face forcible removal in the first week of September. Another is in the middle of an eviction case. Five or more women expect a court summons at any moment. City Life/Vida Urbana and Fenway CDC are pledging resistance.

Expectativas y Realidades

-Recuento De Cruz.

Edsa has its good side and badside with its traffic. The congested highway exhibits the heavy hitters and gets you late for work.

On Friday, November 1, 2013, PCA hosted t a First Fridays opening reception for the third annual exhibit of quilts by the Crescent Hall Quilters with many of the quilters present. Visitors can expect a variety of colorful quilts. All quilts are available for sale, just in time for the holidays!

Crescent Hall is one of seven sites in the city’s quilt of public housing. It was built in the 1970s for the elderly and disabled. The Crescent Hall Quilters group formed more than ten years ago, inspired by an idea from public housing resident Teresa Stinnie. She envisioned the group as a way for residents to meet one another and strengthen their community through fellowship. Group members started out learning the basics of quilting by hand. Now, they create quilts using the most difficult patterns.

The exhibit will be on display through December 16, 2013. The CitySpace Gallery is open to the public Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm. CitySpace is located at 100 5th Street NE on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville.

Dr. Karlee Silver meets with Marie-Sainte Alcius and her baby in Sarazen, Haiti. She is being treated for epilepsy through the Zanmi Lasante project.

With funding from Grand Challenges Canada, Zanmi Lasante is integrating care pathways for depression, epilepsy, psychosis, and child and adolescent disorders in 11 primary care facilities throughout rural Haiti. Through this community-based model, lay and formal health workers are being trained to deliver mental health services and to use new information management systems to improve quality of care. As a result of these efforts to date, 5,086 people are currently receiving treatment for a range of mental health disorders and an estimated 2,325 are experiencing improved health outcomes. As implementation of the project continues, the number of persons benefiting from these services is expected to grow.

"England Expects That Every Man Will Do His Duty" - the signal that was sent by Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson from his flagship HMS Victory as the Battle of Trafalgar was about to commence on 21 October 1805.

Barsham Holy Trinity is one of 38 existing round-tower churches in Suffolk and a Grade I listed building.

The flint nave is thatched whilst the chancel is tiled. The two bay North Aisle was added in the early 1900s and is dedicated as a chapel to St Catherine.

On the 8th February 1906 lightning struck the east end of the church destroying the stonework of the east window. The fund raised to repair this damage also paid for the building of the north aisle as the chapel of St Catherine. In 1979, a fire destroyed the nave roof.

27 June 2022, Turin, Italy. – INNOVATION 4 CHANGE (I4C) DemoDay 2022 culminated today in a long-expected event that was launched at the historical site Castello del Valentino in Turin. The Kokorò team share information at their colorful stand.

The second part of the DemoDay took place at the Fondazione Agnelli, a short walking distance from the castle. At this location each team had a stand providing further information about the solution to their challenge. This was a great opportunity for each of the 10 teams to interact with the audience, answer questions, and showcase the various products created.

This year's winner was Team Ferrovie dello Stato Italiano, with their Greensect waste processing system. Second place went to Team UNICRI, while third place was shared by Team Movyon and Team CNH Industrial.

I4C is the main Impact Innovation program in Italy, organized by Collège des Ingénieurs, CERN IdeaSquare and Politecnico di Torino. Every year, I4C identifies 10 challenges with global impact, pitched by institutions and multinationals. To match these challenges, 10 multidisciplinary teams are selected to work on sustainable solutions and solve the challenge. They have five months to resolve the task and present their pitch. The teams are formed by MBA CDI students and one PhD student enrolled in various European universities, as well as storytellers from Scuola Holden.

Early Settlers

The ill-fated "Death Valley '49ers," expecting to take a shortcut to California through uncharted territory, were the first recorded travelers crossing the present Nevada Test Site. In 1871, Lieutenant Wheeler, on a second mapping expedition to the area. stated this "entire section" of the southwest was "one of the most desolate regions upon the face of the earth." In fact, he added, due primarily to the scarcity of water, early settlers and miners called this entire region "Death Valley."

Miners and Ranchers

Beginning in 1849, prospectors began scouring the West for gold and silver. Little was found or mined on what is now the Nevada Test Site. In the late 1920s a boomtown sprung up at Cane Springs/Wahmonie over a discovery that quickly disappointed. However, most of the early claims and mines were in the northeast corner of the site in the Oak Spring District. The Climax Mine there yielded tungsten for almost three decades. In the late 1800s, off-site ranchers grazed their cattle on the site, and built some structures and water storage tanks there for the cattle. Some ranching activities likely occurred at every spring in the area.

This World Class attraction was everything we expected and more. Construction has just begun on a major expansion, but that has been managed in such a way that it does not in any way detract from the experience now.

This album focuses on the artwork inside the buildings and on the other interior spaces including the Eleven Restaurant and the Gift Shop. A separate album posted a few days ago is devoted to the two April mornings that we spent exploring just some of the trails that crisscross the 120 acres of Arkansas forest around the museum.

Alice Walton and her co-creative team can be proud of the vision and execution of everything on this 120 acre site.
