Cowboys expected hot biscuits with every meal (sometimes they got corn bread or more likely corn fritters basically fried corn bread, easier to fix than baking it-).
These look good enough to eat! Baked in a dutch oven to perfection. Taste delicious, however, they are usually made with lard or butter. (That is why they taste so lip smackin' good)
Whew, don't tell my cardiologist!
Note the ash piles, the dutch ovens are placed on a bed of hot ashes (about 3 inches thick) then covered with another couple inches of hot ashes. You can use charcoal, but real cowboy cooks use mesquite or oak ashes. Takes 25 to 40 minutes to bake a batch of biscuits this way. They have to be checked frequently.
The one on the right had a few too many coals on the top of the lid. Cooking with Dutch Ovens is an art.

Com o tema Ética e Responsabilidade Social, o Delegado Federal Protógenes Queiroz, que comandou a Operação Satiagraha, também foi muito prestigiado pelos universitários e comunidade vicentina.
No pátio e nas classes, com mais palestras, oficinas, mini-cursos, exposições, teatro, festivais gastronômicos também chamaram a atenção do público.
A Semana Cult será encerrada hoje e o objetivo já foi conquistado: criação de um espaço interativo de produção acadêmica, que leva cultura e entretenimento aos alunos e a população da região.
Hoje ainda acontecem as palestras com o Secretário de Meio Ambiente de Santos, Fabio Alexandre Nunes, o Fabião, a vereadora Telma de Souza. A banda Carlos Bronson fará o encerramento.

In October 2025, the TRANSAT CAFÉ L'OR Le Havre Normandie will take off on 26 October from Le Havre to Martinique, where the finish will be decided for the third time in a row. An unmissable event in ocean racing that skippers in the four open classes have already ticked off their agendas: IMOCA, Ocean Fifty, ULTIM and Class40.
The largest city in Normandy, Le Havre or "LH", for short, is located only 2 hours from Paris. Strong perspectives, modernist decor, dimensions which are both human and aesthetic, Le Havre is a city of water and light which stimulates a strong artistic imagination.
Founded by François I and magnified by Claude Monet, Le Havre is more than ever an inspiring area. After the horrors of the Second World War, the city recovered and rebuilt itself. This represents a renaissance which has earned the city center a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005.
For 30 years, Le Havre has been the host city of the longest transatlantic race which now associates its name with it: the TRANSAT CAFÉ L'OR Le Havre Normandie.
Taken from the still open 41B St level crossing. I expect that it will be closed once the overpass is finished, so this may be the last image I take there.
Operationally, parking a train across the yard throat seems very obtuse to me. The double stack fouled the switches in and out of the yard - and, of course, any chance to see what other locos might be there. There were some loaded BNSF coal trains, but no way to get shots of the consists.
My first maternity session with a four-legged furry guy. It was so much fun, and look how cute he is!
What to expect? We had no idea when we booked our trip to Myanmar. But, what we were met by was a country full of warmth, incredible people, easy transit, and endless beauty.
