After a swift victory by the Rebel fleet overhead, several Imperial escape pods were detected moving toward the planet. Unbeknownst to Imperial forces, Luke Skywalker and several squads of Rebel commandos lie entrenched in Mimban's foggy jungle underbrush waiting to eliminate enemy forces attempting to gain a foot hold on the Rebel conquered planet.

Karen Traviss' novel "Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice" was released on May 29, 2007. In this book, there was the greatest loss in the whole Expanded Universe - one of the most fan-favorite Star Wars character of all times, Mara Jade Skywalker was killed by her own nephew, Jacen Solo. If you are a newbie at SW and wonder, why some fans care about her even eleven years after, please read this wonderful article by Dunc from Club Jade, it explains everything. Yeah, I'm definitely not from that generation gap, cause I watched SW for the first time only in 2010. So, in the language of the author of the article, I'm from The Clone Wars generation, therefore I must be the fan of Ahsoka (or, at least, Padme) as strong female character. But I'm not a fan of The Clone Wars... I'm a reader. My first SW book was "The New Essential Guide to Characters", and though there was a lot of interesting characters, the one who caught my attention was Mara. I decided to read more about her, and took both The Thrawn Trilogy and The Hand of Thrawn Duology by Timothy Zahn. And after I finished reading, Mara became my second most-favorite character of Star Wars (the first, as you can guess, is R2-D2). Later I knew from the Wookieepedia, that Traviss killed Mara in her novel, and it was really sad news, so I decided to skip Legacy of the Force series entirely, and still have not read it (because I promised not to). But I always wondered, what would happen, if Mara, not Jaina Solo, have defeated Jacen?

Eight years later. Because of Disney now all this staff is not a canon. :( But I'm still wondering - what if?

She was fighting to protect her son Ben, who was a friend, a cousin and Jedi apprentice of Jacen until Solo turned to the dark side. That's why when Jacen almost lost the duel, he created the illusion of Ben's face over his to distract Mara. She hesitated for a second, and it was enough time for Jacen to thrust a poisoned dart into her leg. It was a slow and painful death... only for this vile traitor to become Sith Lord. But what if he could not deceive her with his illusion? The galaxy would have been saved four books (!) earlier. And then in "Fate of the Jedi" no Chief of State would be able to send Luke into exile - definitely Mara would not let all this mess happen. xD And though this can lead to Luke and Ben would never travel to investigate Jacen's fall and would never meet the Lost Tribe of Sith (thus they never meet my third favorite character, Vestara Khai, a Sith apprentice), which in it's turn never meet Abeloth because Battle of Centerpoint Station, which awakened and helped her to escape, would never happened - I think this story is a way better. After all, who knows, maybe the rising of such powerful entity as Abeloth is a fixed point in time and something else would awaken her? :| Perhaps all these characters would still meet, just in another place and under other circumstances. And I'm sure that in that case Mara probably would help Vestara to become the first character in the whole EU, who was a Sith (not just "on the dark side" or "former Jedi or something", I mean really a Sith!) and turned to a Jedi - the thing that never ever has happened before.

The Doctor taught me that time can be rewritten. And as I'm not River Song in the Library, yes, I'm DARE to do it! =^_^= Let me introduce the alternative SW timeline, in which Mara successfully defeated Jacen!

By the way, I've been planning for many years a crossover between DW and SW, who explained all this Disney cancellation of EU as parallel world paradox. I'm not sure that I will ever have enough time and resources to implement this idea, but I really hope so. :) Maybe one day...

A remixed fan-favorite from the old EU.

The "next gen" version of the Hapes Consortium's premier capital ship, manufactured by Olanji/Charubah. Armed with two rotating rings of turbolasers, defensive triple ion cannons on both saucers, eight hangars of Miy'til starfighters, and sixteen pulse-mass mines to stop enemy ships from fleeing.

The current generation leverages advances in material science and structural engineering techniques to avoid the need for rotation support struts present in the iconic first generation.

An updated version of my UCS-scale Quaser Fire-class Carrier MoC. In particular I wanted to make the bridge less bulky, which I think turned out quite well. I also added a stand, so that it can be built and displayed properly.

Found these three at retail yesterday and had to pick them up. I always like to get two of a trooper type, and this marks my second. The Fett looks better in person than he did in photos I'd seen, I think he's pretty good!

Left to right: Clone Captain Navy, 165th Cloe Trooper

Based on the Rebel Nebulon-B Medical Frigate used in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I envision this to be a New Jedi Order era ship made by the New Republic and Galactic Alliance alongside the Nebula-Class Destroyer as part of the same naval modernization program during the Yuuzhan Vong War.

The Field Secured Container Vessel is a pretty obscure ship, which breaks with the conventional triangular shape of imperial ships. Building the cargo in the bubbles was interesting, as I wanted to achieve a skeletal look which still filled up most of the sphere. The bubbles can however be left out, and the ships should be able to function as book stands.

The MoC is based on the excellent Renders from Fractalsponge and the few other illustrations I could find. It is not UCS-Scale, but I went for a similar amount of detail.

The AT-AFW is based on an older build i did a year ago, i took some inspiration from David Buchholz AT-AP.

Shaak Ti was a female Togruta Jedi Master, hailing from the planet Shili, serving the Galactic Republic as a Jedi Order member in the final decades of the Republic Classic era. Joining the Jedi High Council in the years before the Clone Wars, she took up the ranks of General within the Grand Army of the Republic and was tasked with the oversight of clone trooper training on the ocean world Kamino.

As a Jedi Councilor, Master Shaak Ti was involved in many epic conflicts during the Clone Wars, including planning and engaging in the opening salvo on Geonosis. Also, Master Ti was instrumental in the First and Third Battles of Kamino, where she helped to protect the future generations of clone troopers growing at the facilities, as well as during the Battle of Hypori, where she became one of the few Jedi to survive an encounter with the feared General Grievous. Master Ti was known to have dueled and defeated one of Count Dooku's Dark Acolytes, Artel Darc, before which she served with distinction during the conflict on Brentaal IV.

Shaak Ti was assigned to protect the Jedi Temple in the final days of the war as the threat of the hidden Dark Lord of the Sith became clear. Stationed there during the initiation of Operation: Knightfall, Ti escaped with her life when the Temple and the Republic fell into the hands of the Sith Lords. Fleeing Coruscant and traveling from world to world, Ti finally landed on Felucia with the orphaned Padawan Maris Brood. Once on Felucia, Shaak Ti trained Brood and the local Force-sensitive Jungle Felucians for an inevitable confrontation with the Sith. Master Ti was eventually tracked by Darth Vader, who sent his secret Sith apprentice, Starkiller, to kill her. Starkiller and Shaak Ti engaged in a vicious duel, ending when an injured Ti toppled into the Ancient Abyss.

Maris Brood was a female Zabrak Jedi Padawan who survived the Great Jedi Purge's initial stages. She spent many years hiding with Jedi Master Shaak Ti on the planet Felucia. After her master's death, she was corrupted by the Force's dark side, along with the entire planet and its native population. After Brood captured Senator Bail Prestor Organa, she was confronted by Darth Vader's Sith apprentice, Starkiller, who defeated her in combat. Initially tempted to kill her, the apprentice ultimately spared Brood's life and allowed her to disappear into hiding once more.

In the Eu Asajj Ventress was a female Dathomirian Dark Jedi and a valuable Dark Acolyte to Count Dooku.

Originally a Nightsister from Dathomir, Ventress was taken as a slave to Rattatak and trained as a Jedi Padawan by Jedi Knight Ky Narec.

However, after Narec was slain, Ventress gave into her anger and began walking the path of the dark side; taking up the lightsaber of her dead master, she trained herself in the Jar'Kai style of lightsaber combat, before slaying all the warlords on Rattatak and installing herself as its ruler.

At the time of the Clone Wars, Ventress served as one of Count Dooku's loyal acolytes and served in the rank of commander in the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

She had yearned to learn the ways of the Sith from Dooku and believed if she had proved herself worthy, she would become his apprentice. She even blamed Obi-Wan Kenobi for her failure and made it an obsession to hunt and kill him. Soon after her first encounter on the moon Ohma-D'un, she hunted him on missions on Christophsis, Teth, and Ord Cestus, but never gained the chance to defeat him.

In addition, during her struggles with Kenobi, she was also confronted with Kenobi's apprentice Anakin Skywalker, who also defeated her several times, being seriously injured in a duel on Yavin IV. When she especially wanted to meet Skywalker by threatening his lover Padmé Amidala,

he was almost killed in duel on Coruscant and initially disappeared from the scene.

On the planet Boz Pity, Ventress was placed in a bacta tank by Count Dooku and given cybernetic modifications to amplify her rage.

When Republic forces attacked Boz Pity, Kenobi came upon the chamber in which Ventress was contained within a Separatist facility, and was subsequently attacked by her when she detected him in her trance.

She fought against both Kenobi and Skywalker, only to be unexpectedly abandoned by Dooku, who did not want her to delay his escape with an exhausted and malfunctioned Grievous. He ordered an IG-100 MagnaGuard to kill her as she desperately tried to reach Dooku's shuttle. Using a blaster rifle, the droid shot Ventress down as she approached the shuttle.

Enraged and wounded, Ventress attempted to kill Kenobi, who was trying to help her, only to be dealt a mortal wound by Anakin.

As she lay dying, Ventress told Kenobi to protect the Galactic Core from Dooku, and finally let go of her anger and rage. Perhaps, she mused, Kenobi had been right about her. With that, Ventress appeared to die, and Obi-Wan ordered her apparent corpse to be placed aboard a medical shuttle.

Despite appearances to the contrary, Ventress did not die, instead placing herself in a Sith trance on Boz Pity using her Sith healing techniques to heal the wounds she suffered. She was loaded aboard the med runner Bright Flight, and, while on board, emerged from her trance and ordered the pilots to alter their course; to take her as far away as possible from the war, Dooku, and the Jedi. The pilots complied.

Tried to set mood a little. You get the idea. Obviously, I'm really into some of the accessories the SW license has produced this year.
