During exercises 11P-13P I attempted to use camera settings in nontraditional ways to shoot more than a realistic view of what my eyes saw, but an abstract image or an image a viewer would enjoy pondering over. I realized i had not incorporated any photos of water. Building on the critiques of the previous exercises, I continued this attempt but with water in the image. Maybe it was luck or maybe it was being able to take advantage of opportunity, I took this image and others in this exercise of the reflections in a pond where a fountain was making continuous ripples. I was pleased to see the incredible abstract images created by the effect of the rippling water on the reflections. It is somewhat fitting that this is the final shoot for this project in that I was able to create the most abstract image that viewers could stare at for minutes or longer and wonder not only how they were created but stare at the numerous shapes and colors and associate the abstractions with reality.
