A substantial desk that combines genteel refinement with commanding functionality. The front features a bank of drawers with binandeja (raised) centers and chamfered corners, each fitted with keyholes, working keys, and cup handles. These flank an arched central recess that provides generous legroom extending to the open back. While reminiscent of a partner’s desk in form, this piece is designed with a single working side, offering an elegant simplicity.
A particularly striking detail is the series of conforming raised panels on the back and ends, with gracefully undulating corners – an intentional design choice that ensures the desk is visually appealing from every angle. The piece rests on perfectly proportioned bun feet, and its two-tone finish lends a mellow yet striking contrast that enhances its timeless character.
