Even though this was a work camp, it did have an actual jail for bad prisoners. Many of those were executed here. It is a depression near the jail and would be out of site to all others in the camp. Thousands of inmates were killed here from hanging and shooting.

Sadly I didn't have a quarter.
Today consisted of wandering the Modena countryside in an attempt to find a personal Maserati collection, owned by a wealthy farmer with a Maserati/racing interest. That search did not disappoint, stuffed in an old, but renovated, barnhouse you will find a collection of (mostly) Maserati based automobilia carefully curated by a man with exquisite taste in fine Italian motor coaches, who also happens to have a slight obsession with motor cycles as well. Afterwards we wondered back into town and made our way to the Enzo Ferrari museum, this facility is different from Museo Ferrari in the fact that it celebrates the life of Enzo Ferrari and how his level of execution extended the company reach around the globe with his world renowned forward thinking and design thesis. Humble beginnings in the tractor business really have led to quite the dynasty for all involved in Ferrari. To finish off the day we wondered around downtown Modena for a bit and ended up eating dinner at McDonalds of all places. Haha.
This place used to be a halfway decent restaurant and great blues & country venue called Orange Blossom Junction. Now it's an execution chamber. (aka wedding venue)
