These are some of the snails I collected for S170 Darwin and Evolution

When I went out earlier in March I could only find empty shells, now they are occupied and playful

Serenity comes with a look inspired in Fátima Lopes's Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 collection. Fátima Lopes is one of the most famous fashion portuguese designers and Serenity got her inspiration from "À Flor da Pele" theme collection, a collection that plays with the body and accentuates the forms.

Serenity wears "Memoire pencil skirt" by Indyra, an amazing piece made of linen and leather that flatters her silhouette to the max. She matched this garment with the "Sheer Tank top" by The Sea Hole and the beautiful "A/D/E leather jacket " by R2. This combination of solid colours and forms, increases her silhouette and femininity.

To make this look even more sophisticated, she wears Athor's Gigi shoes in a beautiful nude tone and the classy "Uffie" hairstyle by Faenzo. On the head, she created a simple headpiece made of a beautiful red lace and named it "Fatima Lopes Inspired".

She finishes this marvellous look with MONS "Eyeliner so Cute", "Eyeliner Summer" and Lipstick Dominat, all in red, Redgrave's eyelashes 39 Luscious and Finesmith's "Nails Painter set" and "Touch of Love ring".

Part of the evolution display at the exhibition, where the path from the earliest cells to our brain is traced by a winding shelf.

A branch of my growth and evolution project, again original inspired by Edward Weston, the colour was added to contrast a simple and almost dull concept, by mimicking lines with the shapes this creates a link between the two mediums.

The Ferrari F355 is a sports car built by Ferrari from May 1994 to 1999. It is an evolution of the Ferrari 348 and was replaced by the Ferrari 360. It is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive V8-powered two-seat coupe, targa, or convertible. Design emphasis for the F355 was placed on significantly improved performance, as well as drivability across a wider range of speeds and in different environments (such a low-speed city traffic.)

Queen Square is a 2.4 hectares (5.9 acres) garden square in the centre of Bristol, England. It was originally a fashionable residential address, but now most of the buildings are in office use.

The site on which the Square was built lay outside Bristol's city walls and was known as the Town Marsh. The Square was planned in 1699 and building finished in 1727. It was named in honour of Queen Anne. The north side and much of the west were destroyed in the Bristol Riots of 1831 and rebuilt. Many of the buildings now have listed building status.

In 1937 the Inner Circuit Road was driven diagonally across the Square but in 2000 it was removed and the open space restored.

Which is your favourite?

Saw these two there together and thought it would do for a nice "evolutive" picture, specially since both are pretty much the same color.

If this Sebring is the one I am thinking about then it used to wear chromed hubcaps which has kept losing one by one, it's registered in 2001.

The Stratus on the other hand was quite dirty and accumulated a lot of dust in both the body and the wheels, perhaps not moved from there for a long time now. Its front plate was damaged so I cannot see the letters propertly but I'm guessing it's BZW therefre registered in 2002 (is it too new for the car? wiki says this generation ended production in 2000. But perhaps it lasted a bit longer here?).

"Literature and butterflies are the two sweetest passions known to man." -- Vladimir Nabokov.

Today's edition of the NYT Science Times is all about our changing understanding of how life is shaped by evolution, including the intricate patterns on butterfly wings. For an annotated guide to the articles, see my blog Letter from Here. (Photographed at at the Bolz Conservatory, Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Madison, WI.)

For more about the interconnection between Nabokov's literary creations and his work as an entomologist, see this earlier post in my blog Letter from Here. Nabokov knew all about reweaving the rainbow.
