Every Dog's Story

I have a bed, my very own.

It's just my size.

And sometimes I like to sleep alone

with dreams inside my eyes.

But sometimes dreams are dark and wild and creepy

and I wake and am afraid, though I don't know why.

But I'm no longer sleepy

and too slowly the hours go by.

So I climb on the bed where the light of the moon

is shining on your face

and I know it will be morning soon.

Everybody needs a safe place.

Mary Oliver (Dog Songs)

Confucianism divides men into rulers and ruled. From the former it requires a sense of duty and from the latter filial piety. Here we see that the social Law is in no wise detached from the spiritual meaning of the whole tradition; inevitably it has concomitant spiritual elements which concern man as such, that is, man envisaged independently from society.

Indeed every man rules or determines something which is placed in some way in dependence on him, even if it is only his own soul, made up of images and desires; and, again, every man is governed or determined by something which in some way surpasses him, even if it is only his own intellect. Thus each man bears in himself the double obligation of duty in relation to the inferior and of piety in relation to the superior, and this double principle is capable of incalculable applications: it includes even inanimate nature in the sense that each thing can have in relation to us, according to the circumstances, the function of being either a celestial principle or a terrestrial substance.

Chinese wisdom foresees an application that is first social and secondly personal of the universal pair 'Heaven-Earth' ( Tien-Tz) and thus a conformity with the 'Ineffable' ( Wu-Ming) from which this pair proceeds, the Tao.

The point of junction between Confucianism and Taoism is in the virtues. The former envisages their social and human value and the second their intrinsic and spiritual quality. Man is the place where Earth and Heaven meet.

Egoism must be extinguished between devotion and duty.

every time it rains I think how lucky I am to be able to go take a photograph, it need not be in sharp focus, clarity is but an illusion.....I have been treated for glaucoma for many years and whilst not suffering yet apart from medication night and day

vignetting is my ogre in the closet, not the thought of losing clarity.......which brings me to my title, 'every time it rains', a blind man would love to see it........always be aware and go get your eye's checked.

Every breath you take

And every move you make

Every bond you break,

Every step you take

I'll be watching you

Every single day

And every word you say

Every game you play,

Every night you stay

I'll be watching you

Oh, can't you see?

You belong to me

How my poor heart aches

With every step you take

Every move you make

Every vow you break

Every smile you fake,

Every claim you stake

I'll be watching you

Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace

I dream at night, I can only see your face

I look around, but it's you I can't replace

I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace

I keep crying baby, baby please,

Oh, can't you see?

You belong to me

How my poor heart aches

With every step you take

Every move you make

Every vow you break

Every smile you fake,

Every claim you stake

I'll be watching you

Every move you make,

Every step you take

I'll be watching you

I'll be watching you.

Every time I go to Tomahawk I pass this abandoned farm on E, promising myself that I will go back when there is good light. Well, I did and overall I'm pleased with the image although I should have probably walked into that field a bit. I worry that I'll trespass and make someone mad. Not something I'm anxious to do.

Every Image You EVER Wanted To See Of "The Mad Hatter"

Every Friday evening during the summer, restaurants and bars from the town open booths in the main square, and the city brings in picnic tables, and everyone enjoys having their dinner together outdoors. During this "Open Table" rain suddenly appeared, and this couple managed to finish their wine UNDER their picnic table.

Large urban areas or small rural towns, & on every continent: beauty is everywhere. Los Andes, BTW, is between Santiago and the border with Argentina.

Every time I've travelled to Nashville I like to break the trip up by spending one night in Louisville. It's a great town with a good craft beer culture and good eats. When looking for hotels to stay in the first time I visited, I saw pictures of this room underneath the Seelbach Hilton and always wanted to visit. The Seelbach is a very upscale hotel and was never in my price range for the one-night stay. This past June, my fiancé surprised me by booking us a room there for our one night layover before heading to CMA Fest in Nashville.

Simply put the room was amazing. We walked in and it felt like being transported to another time. Rooms/building aren't constructed like this anymore. Detail and design are often not cost effective so we're left with a lot of flat surfaces in bland colors. This room is anything but bland and has so many intricate details. I honestly could've stayed in there for hours shooting every inch, but we respectfully took a handful of shots and left without being greedy. I highly recommend checking this spot out next time you're in the Louisville area.

Every time I visit Jackson, Tennessee (and specifically South Jackson & Bemis where I grew up), I am very disappointed in the state of the site of the former Bemis Cotton Mill. Demolition was authorized by the Jackson Mayor and City Council and a few non-local companies have come through and pillaged anything of much value. The rest that remains (as seen here) just sits week after week and month after month as nothing happens. The two 'towers' seen here housed a lot of the mechanical & ventilation systems that were added later in the life of the mill so are not as "historical" as the parts that were scavenged. However, you can see that they were left in a partially deconstructed state and are somewhat dangerous as they sit but no one with any authority seems to care. This is a painful site for the longtime residents of Bemis and the surrounding area as they watch their community sit, partially in ruin, as nothing else happens to this once great piece of Jackson and Tennessee history.

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

Every train picture adventure seems to net things other than trains. 10/10/14 was no exception, found this Heron, identified as a great Blue Heron, having breakfast at the Cape Fear River as I patiently awaited the train for my river crossing pic. Didn't seem to bothered by the old guy with the camera filiming his search for breakfast.

With pretty gloomy weather for most of Friday 05/06/20, I thought I'd make use of the slightly brighter end to the day and interesting loco move promised. I headed to Watson's Bridge in Stenson to see the 6K97 Toton North Yard to Crewe Basford Hall working, with DRS 68001 leading a load of rails and a shiny 66091, the ex-DB shed which has been repainted and branded at Toton TMD for its new long term lease to DRS. Taken with a pole at 5m...I daren't go any higher for the wind!

Well, if I ever went anywhere, that is. 😜😋😵‍💫😬😎😜
