Late at night by Lake Þingvallavatn. My daughter is posing for me and in the back is the beautiful evening sky - colored partly red from the midnight sun. She is wearing a traditional Icelandic sweater - a gift from our dear friend Rósa who lives at the other side of the lake. The scarf is a big fashion hit in Iceland now.:)
Cup O'Joe's, 6 PM on a Monday evening.
"I'm tellin ya Fitz, things are gonna get real bad here real soon".
Detective Fitzgerald sat quietly sipping his coffee while he let his partner finish his familiar rant.
"That Crimson Cape,".
"Cloak, sir" interrupted Fitz, like he did every time.
"Whatever" continued Detective Napolinski.
"That guy's doing whatever he wants up in New Brickton and now Brickhaven's got things going on too. Of course it's gonna spill over here. Look at all the stuff that's happened in the past few months. Bodies flying out of windows, strange things going on at the docks, and that STUD Labs coming to town....." Detective Napolinski stopped in mid rant, having spilled some of his coffee, like always.
"We don't need those criminals and vigilantes coming to New Blok and causing more trouble. Damnit, get me a napkin".
Fitz gave the waitress a sympathetic yet grateful glance as she came over with a rag.
"You know, sir" began Fitz. "Maybe those 'vigilantes' are what's keeping their criminals from 'spilling' over to New Blok".
"Hrmmph" mumbled Napolinski as he checked to see if any coffee had spilled on his jacket.
"Maybe New Blok has some vigilantes of it's own". Fitz said before taking another sip.
Napolinski looked up suddenly.
"What!?! Oh great, just what this town needs......copycats!!"
Sunday evening brought us one of the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen. This photo was taken only when the rainbow started to come out. Unfortunately I didn't get any better pictures 'cause other family members wanted to try using the camera on the rainbow as well.
You can see in this picture how the rainbow colors are reflecting themselves just below the rainbow. A few minutes after I took this shot, the rainbow reflected itself seven, yes, SEVEN times. It was the widest, most colorful rainbow I've ever seen!
