"In gratitude for the relief of human suffering by the inhaling of ether a citizen of Boston has erected this monument A.D. MDCCCLXVII"
"The Gift of Thomas Lee"
One of the quirkier monuments in Boston's Public Garden is this monument to ether. It was erected in 1867 (I believe--I'm not good at reading years written in roman numerals.) and was the gift of a gentleman named Thomas Lee. The inscription on the opposite side says:
"To commemorate the discovery that the inhaling of ether causes insensibility to pain. First proved to the world at the Mass. General Hospital in Boston October A.D. MDCCCXLVI."

Architectural-Ethnographic Complex "Ether" is an open air museum and the neighborhood of Gabrovo. It is Bulgarian customs, culture and craftsmanship.
"There weren't many of these beauties made. This Effsmlizer was manufactured by Hunt&Casson in 1888 with the express purpose of hunting super-natural entities. This model was famously used by Dr. Herbert West in his studies of the Arkham incident and used to great effect! That piece still hangs in the library of Miskatonic University above the registrar's desk. If you would like to own this stunning antique apparatus, you can find one in no better condition than here!"
