Henry Moore Mother and Child. Just in!

This one isn't anything special, but Flame Painter is capable of some cool etching effects. A little hard to control, though.

This is an etching by James C. King, but the man is unidentified. Who is this man? Any ideas?

Experimenting using print techniques (etching) in order to plan for our final, one-off print design.

I make etched patterns for jewelry. All one-of-a-kind. Including earrings, hobo rings, pendants and hopefully much more.

Linda's Lovely Loot

This is a technique with which I have been experimenting recently. I etch a design in the dichroic coating, exposing the glass below, and cap it with clear glass, then fire it in a kiln to 1450F. What fun!

I like ships at sea in pictures. They always look...noble. Or something.

This was first attempt at cutting PCB boards. I used grey spray on car primer. The primer was on so good that I had to scratch it off after rubbing aceton on it for 5 mins. You can even see my company logo on this tiny board!

Half way through the induction into etching, this is my plate.

This is my shiny new HWE SA-1/2S Spray Etching Machine. It looks handbuilt (indeed it is....) but the container is made of real glass, it has a 100W heating and 2 Impellers so i could do 2 SIded Boards if i wanted to use Eagle with its Routing capabilities (for now i Route easier by hand). The PCBs are held nicely in a Frame and theres a whoping 2,5 liters of Acid in there - takes some time to heat but you can do maaaany PCBs with it. When not in use the Acid can be left in the Container.

Im using Sodium Peroxide Na2O3 for etching, about 400g/l at 40°-50° C. Etching takes about 6 Minutes for Bungard 35µ Material.

Here is the result of the etching primer that I sprayed on the Honda Motra parts, it's a layer that makes good contact with the bare metal. After this I spray some filler over it that connects really good with the etching primer.

How's that for an outstanding example of the 19th century art of etching on copper plates, to print on paper? It was a big deal before photo reproduction was invented. Countless books and magazines used this printing medium. I collect etchings of this type.

Bartlett by the way also did a series of Bible illustrations, and also illustrated a large book about Canada in the 1870's or 1880's, in addition to illustrations of the Holy Land.

These etchings are pieces I did when I was a printmaker in the seventies. So I have all these prints hanging around and I thought it would be nice to build some frames which really integrated with the art. Sort of enlarged the idea behind the print. Thus, my new category of 'framed art'.
