Etches Museum - Jurassic life under the microscope.
Photos taken at the Dorchester Family Science Day held at Dorset County Museum and the Corn Exchange on Sunday 16th March 2025. Organised by Dorchester Town Council and Dorset County Museum.

Both clip-art and background worked out well on this one. It's no surprise that both took a while to create.

This barrette was inspired by the herringbone pattern. I acid etched brick shapes in a herringbone pattern on a sheet of copper, cut, sanded, oxidized, polished, and attached the etched copper piece to a 3 1/4 inch Made in France barrette clip with miniature brass hex screws.
I spent an evening etching pie plates with my friend for her cousin. It was my first time doing that and some form of this will be added to Christmas gifts this year.
Oh this is fun!
I love GIMP. I know I said that before, but I really love GIMP. This was a little more experimenting (making it up as I went along), and this happened after about... 6 steps, I think.
