Kailasanathar temple is one of the oldest temples in Tamil nadu and this Kanchipuram temple is said to be constructed by the Pallava king Rajasimha in the early eighth century. Kailashanathar temple, Kanchipuram represents the Dravidian style of architecture. The architecture of Kailashanathar temple resembles another great Pallava monument Shore temple of Mahabalipuram which is also said to be constructed by the same Pallava king Rajasimha.

The temple is currently being maintained by Archaeological Survey of India.

Etched Glass Blocks in a Railroad theme at the Liberty Park Light Rail Station, Jersey City, New Jersey.

Messed up on the pour, salvaged with a quick etching.

Old Market Omaha Nebraska. I liked the texture of this.

Not jewelry for lefties, jewelry made mostly with my left hand (I'm a righty). I have to rest the right due to ulnar nerve problems (not making much jewelry has been torture, frankly, especially as I just had four days off from my day job). Hammering, soldering, and sanding have been fine with the left hand. Filing is difficult, and sawing proved downright dangerous. Thank god for my disc cutter.

My first hard ground etch. Printed two copper plates on top of each other.

From afar, the windows panels of this ancestral house appear to be made of capiz just like the other houses surrounding it, but a closer inspection shows otherwise. As a sign of prestige and distinction, the owners had the latticework filled with etched glass instead.

Isn't this etch-a-sketch a beauty? It was a gift from my brother :D

Scanned from the negative. I was using a Yashica TL and nothing special color print film. I sandblasted this commissioned work. No room for error. The panel divides the living room and dining room.

Here is a bare bones skeleton of a pattern created by Sandy Bartholomew, which I have rendered and modified in AutoCad. Please feel free to use it for your own creations. I look forward to see what my fellow tanglers do with it.

Etched brass discs that were domed and drilled. Sterling wire wrapped rubies and prehnite dangle from sterling jumprings.

Selfportrait.

Dry etching

Out of the Archives: On June 20, 1907, a groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction on the Catskill Aqueduct and reservoirs for the City’s new water supply. That morning, 360 Board of Water Supply members and guests departed Pier A in Manhattan on the Hudson River Day Line steamer "Albany," then enjoyed a luncheon on the boat before landing at Cold Spring and continuing south toward Garrison by car. Near Indian Brook, 1,000 spectators gathered at a patriotic stand to watch speeches and the presentation of a special spade designed by Tiffany & Co. to New York Mayor George B. McClellan, who then ceremonially turned the first sod for one of the world’s greatest engineering achievements. This photograph is from "City of New York, Additional Water Supply, Catskill Aqueduct, Inauguration of Construction near Peekskill, N.Y., June 20, 1907." “The spade presented by the Commissioners of the Board of Water Supply to the Mayor, as a souvenir of the inauguration of construction of the greatest system of municipal water works, was specially designed by Tiffany. Its mahogany handle was fashioned to represent a cross-section of the Catskill aqueduct, and its etched steel shank and blade were heavily mounted and inlaid with silver." Dedicated to all those beautiful people that once came in my life and touched my heart.....RIP.

Etched glass bathroom jars. Your Q-tips never looked so good! Full tutorial can be found at: www.createstudio.blogspot.com

I wonder who started this trend and how long their names have been ingrained in the stalks. Is it a legacy of love or a memorial of the past? View this one in the light box if you have the time.

bottom of the board with the toner (etch resist) removed with acetone. Great results over all, no serious flaws except some poly edge bridging (easy to find and fix) and a few broken traces due to scratching (also easy fixes).

Update: Looking more at the board and the photos, I might just keep this as a-neat-thing-to-look-at, and redo it with:

* higher isolate distances for the polys,

* bigger pads all around,

* slightly thinner traces (this goes down to .016, but .01 is no problem for toner transfer,

* removed 1-side pads adjacent to polys or traces.

Etched Polymer Clay beads combined with wire work and spacer beads. I needed a lot of tries to get an etched surface and no transfer, I like the pastel colors and the feathery patterns

After etching, the laser prepped circuit board is ready for components to be soldered on.
