I took a full inventory over the weekend and found many bags of rejected pieces, flawed in one way or another
these didn't have enough connections at the edge and etched too thin
The dark green is the original color of this beautiful egg. I acid etched it down to the the lighter green and the final step is the rusty fall dye color.
The letters "N.Y. N.H. & H. R.R." stand for the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad, which was the dominant railroad between Boston and New York City for decades. But while this sign remains etched in stone in Boston, the railroad itself ceased to exist almost fifty years ago, in 1968 -- after ending passenger service to my town in 1959.
Quite a few hours went into making my etch-a-sketch, and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. I think I'll be changing what is drawn in the etch-a-sketch soon, but doodles are fun!
I used my Silhouette SD to make stencils to etch these jars for our neices and nephews. We filled them with candy, packets of hot cocoa and small containers of bubbles. The kids will probably use them as banks when the treats are all gone.
Brief overview of the process can be found here: bellamental.blogspot.com/2010/12/easier-than-you-think.html
This jar was made to hold my flowers. I used a Silhouette Damask design, cut it out of vinyl and used it as a stencil, then used etching cream.

Cut for Scribble Tone out of Blick Battleship Grey Linoleum. It features a speciment typeface designed by Travis Kochel called "Skyward Sans". Prints were featured in Land's Triforce Tribute art show. After lasering Travis & Lizy cut the remaining background area out by hand.
I would not etch this material again; it smelled bad and required a lot of cleanup.

About Brisbane
Brisbane is the capital and most populous city in the Australian state of Queensland and the third most populous city in Australia.Brisbane's metropolitan area has an approximate population of 2 million. A resident of Brisbane is commonly known as a 'Brisbanite'
The Brisbane central business district stands on the original settlement and is situated inside a bend of the Brisbane River approximately 23 kilometres from its mouth at Moreton Bay. The metropolitan area extends in all directions along the floodplain of the Brisbane River valley between the bay and the Great Dividing Range. While the city is governed by several municipalities, they are centred around the Brisbane City Council which has jurisdiction over the largest area and population in metropolitan Brisbane and is also Australia's largest Local Government Area by population.
Brisbane is named after the river on which it sits which, in turn, was named after Sir Thomas Brisbane, the Governor of New South Wales from 1821 to 1825. The first European settlement in Queensland was a penal colony at Redcliffe, 28 kilometres orth of the Brisbane central business district, in 1824. That settlement was soon abandoned and moved to North Quay in 1825. Free settlers were permitted from 1842. Brisbane was chosen as the capital when Queensland was proclaimed a separate colony from New South Wales in 1859.
